"Our dinner on the porch of Alchemy was extraordinary. Our server, Molly, was attentive, thoughtful, engaging, and offered insights into the menu and guided us to a truly incredible meal. We shared the XO Glazed Octopus A La Plancha and the Harissa Seared Scallops. The portions were perfect and exquisitely prepared. For dessert we shared the chocolate fondant which is honestly extraordinary and the addition of the homemade honeycomb gives a sweet crunch to the palate. Our server, Molly, was so patient with us as we were so busy talking and catching up with one another that it took us forever to order. We were grateful for her kindness and warmth. We lingered over the meal and were able to spend a bit of time getting to know her at the end of the meal. I find that whenever I dine at Alchemy I feel welcomed in like a long lost friend or family member. Everyone seems to take great pride in what they do and support one another. It's a refreshing opportunity to have fine dining without the pretention or attitude you sometimes get in big cities. I think we are so fortunate that Alchemy is in our little town and has attracted such talented chefs, pastry chefs, bartenders (honestly mixologists), and servers who all want you to have as much fun as they are. Bravo and Brava!"

Truffle fries are best in Ashland, probably best I’ve ever had. Desserts, cocktails, and appetizers are creative and delicious.

Small portions for not so small prices. The entree was below average. Service was excellent. The outside seating was wonderful. View menu

We enjoyed a dinner at Alchemy before a theatre performance. Only a 5 minute walk from the theatre, the location is perfect. The food was delicious, and the service was top notch. We would happily visit again!

The ambiance is charming, but the dining room could use an update. The food was enjoyable, however, the wait staff seemed eager to rush us out and their smiles felt insincere. They also didn't make an effort to recommend desserts.

This is the best restaurant my husband I have ever been too! From delicious food, to amazing service and beautiful setting. Every single meal we ordered had amazing flavor and our waiter was very polite and helpful. 6 stars if I could! View menu

What an absolutely unexpected delight, we loved this restaurant! I had been meaning to eat here my last several visits to Ashland and finally made a reso in time. Service was attentive, friendly and just the right jokes. We got the diver scallop special and holy cow it was amazing! If its in season when you visit GET IT. My cocktail was the “Are you Figgin me?” And it was well balanced and exactly what I was hoping for! I definitely recommend this gem when in the area.

"I ordered an Old Fashioned, having previously enjoyed a strong one on my last visit. This time, however, it was disappointing—not strong at all. The fruit muddled at the bottom not only interfered with the flavor but also left a chalky aftertaste. To make matters worse, it seemed like the staff was completely oblivious to the fact that a majority of the diners (10 out of 12) were visibly uncomfortable, huddled in their jackets because the restaurant was quite cold. I was dressed in a sweatshirt, hat, and sweatpants—and I usually run hot—but even I felt chilly. My plate was cold to the touch after just 10 minutes of eating, and the asparagus served with my main course was equally cold. I had ordered the filet mignon, which was recommended by our server. When asked how I wanted it cooked, I specifically requested medium rare. To my dismay, the steak arrived so rare that it was chewy, with one side oozing while the other was barely cooked. When I informed the server, she quickly took it back to the kitchen. However, when it returned, it was still blood red rare. For $13, my Old Fashioned was unsatisfactory, and the $49 filet mignon had been undercooked not just once, but twice. This raises serious questions about the bartender’s understanding of what an Old Fashioned should be, the chef’s ability to properly cook the most expensive cut of beef on the menu, and the waitstaff’s awareness of the discomfort their guests were experiencing in a dining room that felt like it was maintained at a chilly 50 degrees. In the end, I did enjoy spending time with my friend and left feeling full, but I can't shake the feeling that I didn’t experience true fine dining or even a quality meal."
