What's not to love about a farm to table restaurant!? Allegory is a great not so hidden gem in Downtown Naperville. Staff was very friendly, the vibe was lively and our meal was fresh. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu! Check it out!Food: 5/5

We had a wonderful dining experience from beginning to end. The service was top-notch and the food was amazing. The prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit in downtown Naperville. There are plenty of parking options within walking distance and lots of other places to explore nearby as well.

Sat at the bar since it was just myself. Decent crowd despite it being a Tuesday night. There is a decent selection of cocktails to choose from, plenty of beer and wine options as well. They have a solid selection of whiskey bourbon to select from as well. The bartender recommended a great Rye that I drank with dinner. I ordered the emerald skirt steak with black beans and brussels. The meat was cooked perfectly and everything was well seasoned. Would definitely recommend, if I had more of an appetite I would have liked to try some of the small plates which sounded great as well. View menu

Amazing experience! We visited Allegory for Father's Day dinner. The vibe is fun, farm to table through and through! Charcuterie board was very diverse with a wide selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, and breads. So tasty! I had the Apropos salad with blackened chicken, and it hit all the right notes! Fresh,flavorful, light dressing that perfectly balanced the greens, didn't overwhelm them. Strawberry ice cream for dessert was dense in a good way, very creamy and full of strawberries. We also shared a cheesecake that was uniquely presented as a mousse in a cup; so fun and pleasing. Great service and reasonably priced. We'll be back!

I recently visited this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness and freshness of their fries. They were absolutely satisfying and made for a great snack. However, I was a bit taken aback by the price. Two orders of fries ended up costing me over $21, which seemed a bit high for such a simple treat. Despite the cost, the flavor and quality of the fries were outstanding, and I can see why some would be willing to spend a little extra for them. If the price was more reasonable, I would definitely make this place my regular go-to for fries. However, if you don't mind splurging a bit for some excellent fries, it's well worth a visit!

It is with a heavy heart that I say that I was not able to photograph the Dad Bod burger. Instead, this photo (taken by the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G) of The Allegory Old Fashioned will have to do.But, dear reader, it is understandable as to why I have done so. The burger (medium rare) is absolutely amazing that provided an interesting and unique texture that stood out to me — even though my diet involves a lot of meat.I have also tried the breaded chicken and the lamb as well because my parents couldn't finish their food, but I can definitely vouch for the delightful taste.The Allegory belongs to the list of places I rate 5 stars in part that I have stopped eating solely to type this review. Waiter was somewhat new, so didn 't have his cadence down quite yet, but we really liked this place, from the decor, to the idea of the changing menu, to the quality and flavor of the dishes themselves. They know how to do a mean blackened seasoning (which I am a big fan of) as well as putting together interesting salad combinations, fun drinks, and doing good, crunchy brusssel sprouts. We had fried fish, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and a salad with a brown sugar balsamic dressing with feta and blackened chicken. Tried a few beers and a peach margarita and they even had lie bations (haha) that were non alcoholic drink combos that our girls really liked they got a kick out of being...

We were unaware that a reservation was required, so we waited 35 minutes to be seated and unfortunately, it was not worth the wait. The presentation of the food was impressive, particularly the fried chicken with its thick crust, but the taste was disappointing and lacked flavor. The drinks were subpar, leading us to return them and opt for water instead. The garlic mashed potatoes were the only redeeming dish. The flavor of the tacos was confusing and did not resemble traditional tacos. The restaurant's location is excellent, but the narrow, small space made it uncomfortably loud. I had the most wonderful dinner with my family and soon-to-be in-laws here. Our food was delicious, wine was tasteful, but the service could’ve been better. I had read previous reviews about the service and how some were not accommodating nor acknowledging some guests, so I hoped that didn’t happen to me and my party. Unfortunately it did. I noticed that some servers were occasionally walking around and taking plates from tables and refilling water glasses, yet our table never received that kind of service until we asked if we could get a picture of ourselves.
