"It was a Sunday night. I had been out doing errands all day, and was looking forward to some delicious Bolognese from Amici’s. When I arrived at the restaurant, two girls were perplexed as to where my order was, they could not find it in the register. I called it in, and paid for it over the phone. Also, they could not find that it had been charged to my credit card when it was called in. I asked them to get my order and give it to me so I could leave. They could solve the rest of their issue afterwards. When I got my mail home, I opened it and found a burnt sausage, literally, it was black. and a meatball. Too much pasta (more is not better), had absorbed most of the sauce, which was sparingly added to the dish. The burnt sausage made everything taste burnt. I dumped it out onto a platter and try to salvage some of it as I had not eaten all day. The rest went down the garbage disposal. Not happy that I chose to get my dinner there and $25 went down the drain. I plan on contacting the restaurant and asking for a gift card to cover this. I feel there is no excuse for this disgusting takeout meal. Extremely disappointing. Amici’s will not be my first choice for takeout anytime soon. Overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant is small and quite noisy. Our waitress had a somewhat brusque demeanor. They offer a nice selection of wines, and the food we tried—pizza and a Tuscan bean appetizer—was enjoyable. For dinner, we spent around $30–50 per person. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at a 3 out of 5.

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience! This place deserves a 10/10 for being the best Italian restaurant in Shrewsbury. I've only tried the takeout, and it was fantastic. The food was well-packaged, with takeout boxes wrapped in plastic to keep everything hot. The quality of the food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. Highly recommend!
