Food was good, service was great! Seating is a little tight...

Thank you for a great evening as we celebrated my daughter's graduation from college. The food and service were amazing!

Every time i visit my daughter in Rumson (I’m from So Carolina) we either go here for dinner or lunch. It is the biggest treat ever. This time i had the ravioli and have to say it is my favorite so far. View menu

First time patrons on a busy summer Tuesday. From the appetizers to the main dishes, the food was just OK for us. When you pay $58 for a pasta dish and $68 for veal parmigiana the dishes should WOW you, not just be OK! The flourless chocolate cake dessert was very good. Service was ok too, they didn’t even offer grated cheese for my pasta entree or pepper for our salad. They seemed too busy to pay attention.

Can see why it’s so hard to get a table. Fantastic food. Wow. Everything made to order and very fresh. The best italian I’ve had in NJ. The only thing, please NO MORE signing for bdays. I swear if the 15 tables 10 were sung happy bday to. It was like Chucky Cheese. No hyperbole. Thought I was in a Larry David Episode. Also, had to keep asking waiter to get me another Diet Coke (he didn’t notice the empty glass? They serve mini bottles, wish they would serve non-children sized bottles.

We made reservations a few weeks before by going in person to the restaurant. Shortly after we arrive it started raining and was very windy outside to the point that the restaurant lost power for a few minutes. We did not mind it. The atmosphere was great and the service was beyond expectation. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and worth the price. We love the pork meatballs and lamb. Our local friends brought us to Anjelica’s while we were in town from OH, and wow, completely worth all of the hype. Absolute excellent atmosphere, even for a 6:15 reservation. The service was top tier and the food… the food was incredible start to finish. We started with long hots, meatballs (OMG), and the chopped salad. Then a shared plate of orecchiette with vodka sauce, which was heavenly, and unashamedly we wiped the plate clean with the fresh bread brought to our table. We had a 4 o’clock reservation on Saturday afternoon to celebrate a birthday. The first guests arrived at 4:15 and were right away made to feel really bad about being late. Not sure who he was., manager I assume continues on as the other guests arrived about how the next party would have to wait and how we wouldn’t like it mockingly saying when told him we got stuck in traffic “oh who would ever think there would be traffic at the Jersey shore on a Saturday?” We were supposed to be seated in the alley way and instead put us at the curb and then proceeded to say the chair at the end, which was set when we arrived, was in the walkway. For the exception of the wait staff (they were excellent) we had a terrible experience. Made a reservation a month ago to sit outside in the alley. Our reservation was at 4pm and we had a few guests arrive at 4:15pm. The rest of the party was running late due to traffic. I tried to call the restaurant to let them know we were running late but the phone just goes to voicemail. When we got there the manager told us he gave away our table in the alley and put us on the sidewalk where he proceeded to tell us that if a stroller came by to “be on the look out” because we were interfering with the flow of traffic on the sidewalk and he could get in trouble with the town about it.
