"I want to start by noting that I ordered my food to go. I don't care what restaurant it is, if you order your food to go it is not nearly as good. That being said, the food was subpar. I felt my chicken was a bit dry and the hummus was a bit runny. The hummus did have a good flavor though and I loved the feta salad. The waitress was very polite and welcoming. There wasn't anyone in the restaurant because I was having a very late lunch, but I was surprised not to see anyone even on a Sunday. I wo … – show"

This restaurant is a long time favorite of ours. They have amazing food and even better service. I recommend the sampler. Enjoy!

The food at Athena is really good. I love Mediterranean food. I do wish staff were a little more attentive, don't be afraid to ask them for what you need. View menu

Service was a bit slow, didn't get a chance to get coffee refilled until our food came out. The lamb was hard and overcooked, the shrimp salad was adequate, house dressing is salty and spicy at the same time. Coffee cost is ridiculous $2.49 per small cup. C'mon man. Apparently I don't like Greek food. Never enjoyed it and most likely will never try it again.

As an avid food lover and frequent traveler, I stopped by this place a few miles from Interstate 20. Seeking a Mediterranean dish of Gyros and pita bread. I was not disappointed in any aspect of my meal. The salad was tasty with olive oil and a hint of vinegar. Chickpea turned into hummus paired nicely with pita bread and rice. I will definitely recommend and return to Athena!

It really pains me to give them a 2 star. Poor service and food was not worth the time it took to place the order. Everyone loves to be hung up on, but I was determined to get my falafel, so I went inside to order. With the drive-through, you call in I guess because their gate intercom doesn't work. The better part of $20 and 1 sandwich thrown away. Sorry for any grammatical or spelling errors but I've put too much effort into this already. View menu

Comfortable, peaceful atmosphere with the best change of pace cuisine in the area. Food presentation is always appealing and portion size is always 'just right ': enough to satisfy one 's appetite without leaving you stuffed. Staff is attentive without being an annoying nuisance. If one is unfamiliar with menu items, wait staff is knowledgeable and helpful in giving adequate description of menu items. Athena is one of the best dining options in the Monroe area.

Ordered pick-up. A guy was at the window for 15 minutes+ during lunch time. I wish they would have told him to pull forward because I was boxed in… Fortunately, the car behind me moved so I could go in and get my order. Ordered the Appetizer Sampler. Lots of meat! They do not skimp on this. As for the rest, sub-par. To me, it was not advertised for what you received. Need more pitas for the meat, the hummus is lacking flavor, loved the tzakki sauce.... Said 10 things, however I do not count … – show

"I don't even know where to start, but let me just say this: when a skilled chef gets their hands on high-quality raw ingredients, magic happens. This was one of those rare occasions where I had to pause after every bite and just admire the expertise that went into creating this symphony of flavors. The Duck Rolls were perfectly seasoned slices of duck breast filled with a mix of cream cheese, diced jalapeno peppers, and wrapped in bacon, then baked until golden brown. Adding yet another layer of flavor, they were drizzled with local honey. Five stars. The homemade biscuits were heavenly – flaky, moist, and delicate, complemented by a variety of jellies and old-fashioned syrup. Five stars again. The Deer Camp Meatloaf was a slice of meatloaf atop mashed potatoes and topped with slow-roasted Brussels sprouts infused with balsamic vinegar. Even though I'm not typically a fan of Brussels sprouts, these were amazing. Another five stars. The catfish and cheese grits were also delicious, though I'm not a grits person – they were the only slight downside to this otherwise fantastic meal. 4.5 stars for that dish. The Fried pork chop and red beans and rice were exceptional, with perfectly cooked red beans and rice and a thin, juicy pork chop with just the right amount of breading. This was easily the best meal I've had in years. Well done, Cotton. The ambiance was classy, with calming tunes, amazing artwork, natural wood floors, and exposed brick walls. The customer service was top-notch as well. This meal ticked all the boxes. If you're ever in the Monroe area, don't miss out on this unforgettable experience. And don't forget dessert – it's truly outstanding!"
