Having friendly people nearby can really make the dining experience at this restaurant enjoyable. The food was excellent.

We tried the 10-brunch and the food was excellent! We enjoyed the communal tables and had a great time chatting with 4 other guests. Highly recommend!

Outstanding food, the decoration its spot on, and makes you feel that you are in someone’s house. There is a no tipping policy. Highly recommended for brunch, be aware its a set menu, and a reservation is needed. Perfectly priced.

Beast was really special. Communal table made for interesting conversations with former strangers. Tasting menu allowed us to explore a variety of gustatory delights. Very creative dishes, beautiful flowers, personable service a wonderful experience!

My wife and I were visiting Willamette Valley but we stayed in Portland. One of the vineyards suggested Beast and we could not have been happier. The meal was superb and the pairings were spot on! I’m very disappointed. My business client had to cancel and only after 10 minutes of having the reservation I asked to cancel it and it took until the next day for someone to call me back and say that they do not except cancelations and I would be charged a fee. I’m in the food business and sad to say I’ll never go back here

The food is fabulous. The price is high, but worth the experience. And, you don't leave a tip, they don't want you to and they zero out the tip line on your bill. You don't know what's on the menu until you get there and each dish is spectacular. We opted for the wine pairing which was another great experience with wine offerings from all around the world. We had a wine from Mexico with our Wagyu beef course, it held us surprisingly well, but we all agreed a cab would have been more desirable. My only complaint would be that the music was too loud so it was difficult to hear each other and also hear the server describe each course and wine offering. Fantastic. This was by far the best Prix Fix menu my wife and I have tried in Portland, ever. Pacing was great, wine pairings were actually really good (my experience has been bad with these pairings at most restaurants), and the food was phenomenal. The serving of Wagyu was surprisingly large, which is so appreciated as many restaurants dish out 2 oz at the most. Ahi, pasta with mushrooms, wagyu, and even the salad were very good. Its always funny to me to sit in a communal setting and hear the comments from other diners.
