"I am far from a restaurant connoisseur nor do I leave reviews on any establishment regularly. But I have to say the food and drinks are top notch and they serve one of the best French dip sandwiches I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had quite a few in my time, at quite a few different restaurants on Long Island. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to look at some of the reviews for this particular establishment And I found quite a few people who had choice words to say about a business they’ve probably never owned or personally run themselves and about a profession they’ve probably never worked in themselves meaning being a restaurant owner and/or a waiter or waitress but they have plenty to say about it. One review says about how it needs to be updated, well I don’t know if you’ve noticed the name of the place but it’s the old city Public House not the new city Public House, it’s rustic and charming. Another reviewer made comments about the “older woman” waitress who works there and how she has “no personality” I will agree that she’s a little rough around the edges but she is a pissa and I don’t know too many waitresses that can handle an entire restaurant by herself and seemingly pay attention to all the tables that she’s serving so she means business and I guess that could be misconstrued as “grumpy”, said in another review. If you’re looking for really good food and a rustic charming atmosphere with a no nonsense waitress who’s going to get your order correct and make sure that you have everything you need throughout your dining experience then this is the place."
