"Getting Better!. We tried Cattle Baron after swearing we never would again. Apparently there is a new manager, Rick, and he's terrific! We watched him greet guests, work with the cooks, and make sure the food was right before it got out to the tables. He even made the effort to greet us at our table to make sure we were happy with our plates. I had the filet and while it was cooked correctly, I would have liked a little more seasoning or something. The texture was really good, but it just needed something. My husband ordered the biggest prime rib and we were surprised that the cooking temperature was consistent on that, too! The baked potatoes are what you would expect. The highlight was the green chile won tons and sauteed mushrooms. The salad bar looks so much better than it used to! That was the biggest surprise! It was clean and well stocked with a lot of variety. The soups were good. We didn't come to Cattle Baron for soup, but its nice to have options. Our server was very friendly and we felt that the pace of the meal was actually perfect. The restaurant looks A LOT cleaner than it did the last time we were in about 2 years ago. Definitely worth a second chance!"

Great salad bar. It seems sort of funny that I am recommending the salad bar at a steak restaurant, but that's how it is. We have had OK prime rib, but other meals are so -so. The standout is definately the salad.

Very Nice. Great bar, very good food and professional service. Under new management for past few months, this place has really improved.... wasn't bad before.... now it's great. I enjoyed it. I've only been to the restaurant once recently and enjoyed my meal. The salad bar was very good and came with my entree. I ordered a New York strip which was a little undercooked when it first came out (I ordered medium but it was cooked medium rare), but after a couple of more minutes on the grill it was great. It was a good thick cut and was quite moist. The service was good, the restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. I went in with low expectations based on the other reviews but was pleasantly surprised. I recommend this restaurant for a good steak.

Nice Mother's Day Gathering. It seems that lots of people are all too gung ho to leave a review when they have a bad experience, but never think of leaving one when things are good to great. We had a group needing to go out for Mother's Day. We would have 6 adults and a 1 year old. We chose The Cattle Baron. We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess and our drink order was taken quickly. We were seated in a nice large booth with plenty of room.
