"One of the most important aspects of Afternoon Tea is a fresh scone. To my dismay, the scones served were so rock hard that we were unable to slice them in half to apply the cream and jam. I was trying hard to make it work but this was intolerable. I couldn’t slice my scone after 3 attempts. When I called the server over to tell him the scone was hard. He literally said it was because I didn’t eat it quick enough after it was heated! If I pay $35 per person for Afternoon TeaI, I expect the scone to be freshly baked or at the very least soft enough to slice. This was the WORST Afternoon Tea I ever had. Management needs to do something about their quality of food. On the pro side, the environment was nice and large, and the tables were nicely spaced out."

Chado is a great spot that is always quiet, great atmosphere, and the food tea selection is always lovely. The age range of people here is children to adults and everyone seems to enjoy themselves here.

The menu is limited to sandwiches and salads. Not a ton of selection if you are vegetarian/vegan. There are hundreds of teas but when i asked for a suggestion for a mixed fruit tea I was offered only 2. I never received the large book with all the teas in it...just the one page menu. There ambience is nice all the tea sets on the perimeter. It's decent if you are in the Torrance area but not world altering.
