"I had been visiting this restaurant twice a week for the past 8 weeks. Recently, the restaurant received their liquor license. I was unaware of this and brought a bottle of wine, which our server opened for us. I was then informed of the corkage fee. I requested to speak with the manager to discuss waiving the fee just this once because we were regular customers. However, the manager claimed he had never seen me before, despite the waitstaff recognizing me. I paid the corkage fee and left, deciding not to return. Prior to this incident, I had really enjoyed the food at this restaurant."

Always great every time we dine there. A gem of an Italian restaurant.

The best pizza in the Upper East Side. Thin crust cooked in a wood-fired oven. Absolutely delicious!

Food hit the right spot. Best Italian on the UES and not over priced line Elios. We have been here over 10 times since we discovered it. View menu

Great service. I think our waiter’s name was Taylor. Food was very good. My only knock is that they didn’t have their liquor license yet so bring your adult beverages with. Great location and cool decor.

We remember that Al Forno was the restaurant in this room before Cheech and Peppe. Al Forno was much better. Although our server tried hard, it could not be for the bad quality of food. Even the bread was stone and had to be roasted before it was served. Toasted Italian bread in an Italian restaurant? We will not return. View menu

We have fond memories of Al Forno, the previous restaurant that occupied this space before Cheech and Peppe's. Al Forno was significantly better. Despite the efforts of our server, the poor quality of the food could not be overlooked. Even the bread was stale and had to be toasted before being served. Toasted Italian bread in an Italian restaurant? We do not plan on coming back.

I've been here for 8 weeks. the restaurant has its fleet license. I didn't know, so I brought a bottle of wine that opened our server right away. I was then informed about the cork fee. I asked to talk to the manager to discuss the cork fee only this time because we were regular. he informed me that he had never seen me in the restaurant before, despite the fact that the waiters knew me all. I paid the cork fee and immediately left, never return. before this experience I really liked the food in this restaurant.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
