"So I was looking for a new place to try in Reading, PA for lunch and Chef Alans came up in my search. It wasnt bad. My burger was very tasty. The thick cut bacon did not let me down. It really complemented the burger rather than just become part of theburger. The french fries were not crunchy and over cooked. They were hot crispy and still held its fluffiness in thepotato. One of the reviews that I saw talked about the coleslaw. So I made sure to try it. I was not impressed at all. When Iasked for more dressing she told me that she makes it fresh. I will definitely say that it was fresh but it did not have thecoleslaw taste. It 's literally tastes like eating raw cabbage. While it wasn 't my favorite I won 't order it again but everythingelse was filling. As always trying to find parking in Downtown Redding is not easy but there is a parking lot right next toit. It was a good try but it wasnt it for my taste. I would say that Chef Alans Restaurant did not stop on the portion sizesor the quality of food. You really did get fresh ingredients and a quality meal."

I loved it here. I'm sorry it's closing. The dining room and the bar were both very enjoyable.

Best petite filet mignon ever. Buttery soft. Crab cake good as usual. Soft rolls. Dessert was apple crisp and chocolate lava.

Food was bad and the place inside looks very rundown. Looks like the place has not been touched up in 20+ years City was very crowded that night but place was empty. Felt like a restaurant that should be on Kitchen Nightmares.

This was my first visit and WOW! Very nice place, quant ambiance, great food selections. The crab dip appetizer and Asian shrimp noodle bowl is excellent! Prices are reasonable four people could eat for under $100.00. Plenty of parking in lot next toentrance. Friendly staff. Nice open diningroom plus bar sections. I recommend! View menu

I also decided to try the coleslaw after reading some reviews, but I was underwhelmed. When I requested extra dressing, the server assured me she'd prepare it fresh. While I appreciated that it was indeed fresh, it lacked the classic coleslaw flavor and tasted more like plain raw cabbage. I probably wouldn't order it again, though everything else was enjoyable. As always, finding parking in downtown Reading can be a bit of a challenge, but there's a parking lot conveniently located right next to the restaurant. Overall, it was a decent experience, but the flavors didn't quite hit the mark for me. That said, Chef Alan's restaurant does not skimp on portion sizes or the quality of the food; t...

The food was good and the one waitress we had was very nice, but it's not the place to go unless you're very easy and want with what people say here. My aunt had a glass that was thrown on her when she asked the bartender here to restore her drink because the Seltzer was not strong at all. The waitress who took our orders would not suggest any other options for people who wanted something they didn't have. We didn't. She even refused to give our guest a single cup of ice on the first request until my father spoke some sense in them. The drinks from the bar never really came out, there's always something wrong with it. I would say you have a better, cheaper experience in your local diners ins... View menu

The food was good and the one waitress we had was very nice, but it isn 't the place to go unless you are very simple and want to agree with whatever the people here say. My aunt had a glass thrown at her when she asked the bartender here to remake her drinkbecause the seltzer wasn 't strong at all. The waitress who took our orders would not suggest any other options to people whowanted something they didn 't exactly have. She would just say, Well we don 't have that. She even refused to give our guest asingle cup of ice at the first request until my father talked some sense into her. The drinks from the bar never came out right, there would always be something wrong with it. I 'd say you wou...

Fish and chips were very good--the fish was cooked perfectly, moist and flakey, and the chips turned out to be waffle-cut fries which were also perfectly cooked and salted. Glad I had malt vinegar at home though since it did not come with it. Caesar salad was a little heavy on the dressing but I did not ask for it on the side so I guess that 's a little bit on me. The chicken on the salad was very good though. My wife said the California avocado burger was probably the best she 's had since we moved here a little over a year ago. My mother-in-law reports that the chicken tenders were perfectly cooked, moist and very, um, tender. We 're all too full to try the cheesecake right now but it look...
