"Had a great meal from a great friend many years ago. He made duck and other specialties for Beth, Eugene Wolfe and others who stopped at the courthouse on Johnson Street. He became a fine chef and I had some other super treats when they were my wedding cupcakes. A big thank you to all. Thanks my friend John always best."

Nice staff... but understaffed, unable to hire enough people to work. Food was ok, over cooked eggs. Popular place, had to wait for a table. View menu

Love always comes here when we visit Atlanta. I always have the Dill Havarti soup that is for tasty to die! I never found it somewhere else. The desserts are also fabulous, especially the lemon Meriange!

Havart Dill soup was delicious. Chef John is a fried cook and baker. From scratches food with great menu selection. Slandered eggs for real. We never know where to eat in Ludington.. no more!! Try everything on this menu! View menu

I'm a little biased. My wife, Di, is the baker for John. So I said I was eating breakfast and lunch there. Tammy makes the best omelets and pastrami sandwiches. My wife loves to work there, as all the staff and John are great and present a great atmosphere.

on Thursday a dozen chefs john’s pecan cinnamon knot for a pick-up on Wednesday for our thanksgiving brunch. they gave me such subpar knots, not like their daily knots in the bakery case. they were so overcrowded that they burned and tasted so dry that I would not serve them because of embarrassment.

"Ate at Jamesport after getting off the ferry. Checked in, got a buzzer and sat outside to wait for our table. Would have liked to have sat at the bar while we waited, but it was full. I think we were quoted a 15-20 min wait, and it only took about 15 to get seated. Once we sat down, everything went really quickly. Drinks came out fast, followed quickly by the soup and then our meals. My wife had the fish and chips which was very good. It was light and tasty made with a great beer batter. My Rueben was closer to average. Flavor wasn't bad, it's just that I prefer corned beef that is shredded, not deli type sliced and the meat was a little dry. We both ordered soups, I had the soup of the day (which was cream of mushroom) and my wife had the Cheese Ale. We liked them both very much. Even though food came out quickly, we had a really rough time getting refills on our drinks. Pretty much empty for most of our meal, even though we asked for refills a couple of times. Would have liked a friendlier waitress or at least a smile. Not sure if she was unfriendly.... More like she was shy. Restaurant (at least indoors) is pretty loud. It's a cool building, but the hardwood floors and high ceilings make for a lot of echo. Maybe ask for something outdoors if looking for something more intimate. Overall, enjoyed our meal. Would highly recommend any fish with their beer batter. Soups were good too."
