"This review is an update from one I wrote two months ago. We were generously invited back by the restaurant owners for a complimentary meal to make up for our previous experience. My husband and I truly appreciate that Chicago Waffles West Loop wanted to rectify the mistake from our first visit. This time, our experience was wonderful, and I have nothing but positive remarks. The owners reached out to us via email, sincerely apologizing for our earlier visit and inviting us back for a redo. We visited on a Sunday afternoon with a reservation for 1 PM, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner. We were seated at a lovely table in a cozy corner. I ordered the Cheddar Waffles with Beef Brisket and a Mimosa, while my husband chose the Country Fried Chicken with a Berry Mojito. The beef brisket was tender, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the waffles were light and fluffy inside, perfectly golden and crispy on the outside. I enjoyed every bite! My husband commented that his chicken was also tender and juicy, and he found his mojito to be delicious—smooth and perfectly balanced. As an extra treat, the owners surprised us with a complimentary waffle flight that included chocolate, red velvet, green tea, and buttermilk waffles to take home. Overall, our experience was fantastic. I highly recommend Chicago Waffles West Loop as a great spot for breakfast or brunch with family, friends, or that special someone."

The food and coffee were excellent. The service was a bit slow, but they might have been short-staffed. I highly recommend the 2x2x2 breakfast (as shown in the picture). We were also given coffee to take with us, which was a nice touch. Overall, I’d rate the food a 4 out of 5.

The best spur-of-the-moment decision I’ve ever made! I’m usually one of those adults who tells herself to just wait because there’s food at home. But I’m so glad I chose to stop here. I ordered the salmon benedict and it was fantastic. And that wonut—oh my goodness! Absolutely delicious! View menu

I found a lovely breakfast spot in the neighborhood! They offer a fantastic selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. The service was quick and friendly. I tried the special, which was a Wonut—a delightful combination of a waffle and a donut. It was absolutely delicious! The drip coffee was also quite good.

The looks better than it taste. No seasoning what do ever and the eggs were swimming in butter. I'd come back if it were the last restaurant on earth, so it's eatable, just not worth it. Also, the waiters have no self respect. She picked up utensils off the floor and then wrapped and folded them. We saw this at the end of our meal.

What a fantastic and delicious experience! I almost rushed to the kitchen to find out who was preparing the eggs because they tasted just like my grandma's special seasoning! Starting my morning with mimosas, margaritas, and horchatas was the best choice. The service was impeccable—quick and friendly. I can't wait to return for an old-fashioned next time! View menu

One star for the pancakes that my partner had and he said were tasty. If you can’t tell from the photo, the potatoes and egg were super oily and inedible in my opinion. I asked the host/server about them and she said that was the seasoning. If that’s true, the seasoning tastes a lot like old oil. I couldn’t eat it. The server/host didn’t offer anything else either so we paid and left hungry.I wasn’t expecting a “healthy” meal but I also didn’t think my breakfast would be drenched in grease. I wonder, is the seasoning added to the eggs too?Stick to the pancakes… after all it does have waffles in the name.

I really love the service here. You sit down and are offered water right away. The waitress was patient and came back to check on us after the food was served and they had an additional server just for water. My daughter loved the pancakes. Pancakes were huge with plenty of berries and whipped cream. My chicken and gravy was a little dry and the gravy lacked flavor. Plus the poached eggs were pretty much hard boiled. So I have to drop a star. My son enjoyed his skillet steak but didn't like how the eggs came on top. Also be aware that skillet steak is steak bits but it was cooked well. Bathrooms are very clean! They were also very smart to just give us a carafe of water which is rare!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
