Only the reason why they don't get 5 stars is that they are slow in the drive thru. Otherwise, the food here is usually quite good.

Express makes their offers really good. The dough radiates through and it gives you large pieces of chickens. The frits are good and the rolls are soft and pleasant. No complaints.

I ordered a #1 5 strips fried pickles and a roll. I asked for 1 ranch and 2 chicken and dippin sauce. Was informed I would have to pay for the dippin sauce because 2 was too many for my meal . I couldn't find a grill while traveling on I-35, so I decided for Chicken Express as a local food option. I waited in a line in my car, a little irritated, not knowing what to expect. I ordered the chicken leg, the leg, the biscuits and the sweet tea. When I entered the hot, light, thin, crispy, practically fat-free skin and juicy chicken, I regretted not getting chicken breast. I'm going back. Friendly staff.

Drive thru service. We arrived second in the drive thru. We sat close to 10 minutes before the truck ahead of us placed his order. That person was very upset screaming at the intercom. At this point, I counted 8 vehicles behind us. I was polite and kind through my process. Our turn was lengthy, too, since I ordered gizzards. Instead of moving us out of the lane to wait on the gizzard, we remain holding back those behind us. My wife had the normal 4 piece tenders. Her meal was not unusual. My gizzards were fried in a thick batter instead of the normal light batter. Much worse, the batter was overcooked and had a burnt taste. I didn't try my meal until we were back on the interstate.
