"I was eyeing this place for post-lunch dessert before I realized that I could have ice cream nearby. I came back anyway after dinner. Chocatoo is an island in the middle of the food court-like, western building of the San Pedro Square Market. Their name is an obvious mashup of cockatoo and chocolate; per their web site, they were founded by sisters from Australia, one of the native countries of said bird. I don 't know if that background particularly influences the dessert selection or creation here; I 've experienced Australian gelato several times and not found the flavors very unfamiliar. Oh wow, I just realized that the island thing is super appropriate for Australians... Menus include a large board with a list of all the coffees, teas, and other beverages oh hey, Australian sodas are listed! and a small paper with the prices of the cookies displayed on one edge of the kiosk/store without prices . All other pastries are on display with prices, so the cookie menu struck me as an odd conceit. I bought two items. The Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie $3.26 is a stunner, with the chewy middle that I like, the typical cookie flavor, and copious amounts of three different forms of chocolate. I 'd like to say that I devoured it all at once, but I kept some of it around for later and found it to be just as delicious, if not better because I stopped being palate-numbingly full. One contributor to that fullness was the [S 'mores Bacon equals... S 'morcon $5.50 , which I decided was more perishable because it 's stored in the cold case. I ate the entire thing, but that wasn 't all because I loved it. The chocolate was not as delicious as in the cookie, the graham cracker wasn 't prominently crunchy that ice cream from earlier reminded me of how textural contrast can be so heavenly , and it was just unwieldy to handle. Now that I 'm thinking back, if I 'd broken up the chocolate coating at the waist around the marshmallow, I could have compressed it. Ah well... I was told not to attack the with utensils, but my actual strategy toward the end was to take half-height bites. If I 'd had a plastic knife, I could 've cut the marshmallow in half and spread out that savory and salty bacon. Oh, here 's another thought: maybe they should just create a huge weaved bacon layer those old photos are just hashtags, not real weaves rather than chopping it up. A man can dream. Interpret my rating for Chocatoo as the middle ground between my positive impression of the cookie and my disappointment in the execution of the bacon-topped dessert. If I find the occasion to return, then I will try typical desserts instead."

Expensive cookies! AND WELL WORTH IT!! These are the BEST cookies I've had in a very longggggg time. This is located in the middle of San Pedro market. The place is clean. Friendly staff. Family friendly. Parking garage across the street. Busy area!! Would be CyHawkApproved, IF he was able to get any. Unfortunately, he didn't make the trip and they will be gone, so he wouldn't get any. Marcy'sDinerTantrumScale 5/5- NoScreamingKids, despite a ton of people there.

I was craving for a choco lava cake from long time but wasn't getting anything even close. Talking to friends for places didn't help either. Craving led to more googling and I found this place. Description and reviews looked good so I decided to give it a shot. Parking is a Hussle as it is located inside San Pedro complex. I got it as to-go and heated in microwave fro around 40 sec, the taste was delicious. Very handy and would definitely recommend this to friends.

The cookies here are absolutely delicious, though they are somewhat on the pricey side. I tried the triple chocolate cookie, and it was fantastic: perfectly crispy on the edges while remaining soft, warm, and chewy on the inside. They achieved an ideal balance of gooeyness without being too fragile (take note, Insomnia Cookies). I also had a chocolate mousse dessert, which was decent but didn't really leave a lasting impression. If you visit, definitely go for the cookies—they're the highlight! View menu

I don't usually spend $4.25 plus tax on a single cookie, but I had to give these a try. They were absolutely delicious! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, just as a cookie should be. However, the price is on the higher side. Just imagine buying a dozen as a gift or for a gathering—yikes, that would be $4.25 each times 12! Even so, if I lived nearby, I would definitely get at least six cookies each visit and freeze them for later. I did deduct one star for the slightly distant and unusual vibe of the two employees. Dear young staff, please remember to appreciate your friendly customers!

Won 't be coming back. Way too expensive for the overall taste. I 've had better outside of downtown SJ. Huge disapointment with red velvet cupcakes. The frosted cream was filled with sugar, yet the actual velvet cupcake had NO taste. It tasted like bland red flour. The smores cookie, was just OK. Nothing phenomenal. If I 'm paying $5 for a cookie, I expect alot of excitement for my taste buds. Their oreo cheesecake was 'just ' a piece of cheesecake with half an oreo cookie. I could barely taste any oreo. Everything, I purchased was just mediocre. Nothing memorable or worth me going back for. Too bad...

cute pastry shop in the san pedro market square! They have just about everything here as well. Starting from drinks, coffee, mocha, to cookies, cakes, macrons and more! I ordered 2 cookies and some other small dessert items. The cookies are huge and are packed with so much goodness! I ordered the recess peanut butter and the regular chocolate chip cookies for the girls and I to share. The cookies are about the size of the hands and some! The macrons are good. and the fudge treats are so tasty and goood! I will def be coming back for some more cookies and to try the other tasty treats they have here! Keep up the sweet treats and great service and I will be returning real soon! View menu

I absolutely love their chocolate chunk cookies, especially when they're warmed up. However, after eating about half of one, I noticed it was a bit soft and chewy, which made me think it might have been underbaked. Perhaps that’s how all soft cookies are meant to be. We also tried their carrot cake and red velvet cupcake. The carrot cake was delicious—moist with a fantastic burst of flavor, and it wasn't overly sweet. On the other hand, the red velvet cupcake didn’t quite meet my expectations. While it wasn’t dry, I was hoping it would be a bit more moist. Overall, this is a great spot for enjoyable treats. They are a little pricey, but the quality of their goodies makes it worth a visit.

SUGAR ALERT! This place is located in downtown San Jose at a popular San Pedro square. I was excited to try this place because of the 4 stars on yelp. I wanted to try the molten choco lava cake but sadly it was sold out. So i tried the GF molten choco lava which tasted good but sweet. The next thing I tried was Chocolate brownie and I could not even finish One bite. It tasted like sugar syrup and not at all as brownie. After that I ate the chocolate cookie which was freshly baked. It was soft and literally melted in my mouth. Cookie also had excessive sugar but the fresh smell and softness made me ate it full. Service was quick but that is because everything was already prepared except the c...
