"I started with the chips and salsa, which came in a small bowl. The chips were cold, unsalted, and only average at best. Next, I had two tacos: one carnitas and one carne asada. The homemade tortillas were reasonably priced at $3.25, but the flavor was again just average—nothing to get excited about. For my main course, I ordered shrimp enchiladas, which were also underwhelming. The shrimp had no seasoning, and the red sauce was overly spicy, applied only to the tortillas and topped with plenty of fresh lettuce, onions, and cheese. While it looked impressive, it lacked flavor and was quite dry—just spicy without depth. I had to request guacamole, which came in another tiny bowl, and it was again just average. I left feeling full but disappointed. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but honestly, I couldn’t justify it. The best aspect of this restaurant is its reasonable prices; however, the food did not live up to the hype."

Don't miss the shrimp and beef tongue tacos—they're absolutely fantastic! I give them two thumbs up! Overall, I rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5.

Fantastic authentic Mexican cuisine! The prices were very reasonable, and every dish was delicious. Each item was expertly cooked and seasoned; however, the portions were quite large, so we weren't able to finish everything.

I felt warmly welcomed by a kind woman who was genuinely happy and went above and beyond to explain the menu and make us feel special. The food was decent, but it’s the atmosphere that will keep me coming back again and again!

This is a fantastic spot for Mexican cuisine! They serve the best enchiladas I’ve ever tasted. The warm, fresh chips and salsa are also excellent. I'll definitely make it a point to stop here every time I drive between Santa Cruz and LA. View menu

Delicious Mexican food conveniently located just off the 101. We enjoyed a fantastic brunch while sitting outside with our dog. I highly recommend stopping by for some authentic Mexican cuisine. Ratings: Food: 4, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 2.

As for parking, there's parking available around the building in the corner lot and across the street. This place is also very kid-friendly. I've been bringing my daughter here since she was six, and now that she's twelve, they still remember her with every visit.

Fantastic Mexican cuisine! I visited after a long day of hiking at Pinnacles National Park, and it was just what I needed. The service was friendly and quick, with great prices to match. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the free chips and salsa were a delightful bonus! I thoroughly enjoyed the fajitas and guacamole. View menu

If you're in search of authentic Mexican cuisine and excellent service, Cocuyos is a must-visit. I've always enjoyed my meals here. Just yesterday, I had the deep-fried tilapia, and it was absolutely delicious—so moist that the fish practically fell off the bone. Usually, I find myself needing to add sauces or a lot of lemon to fish, but not this time; it was delicious on its own. Plus, the corn tortillas have that homemade taste.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem on our way to Santa Cruz, and it was a delightful find! The service was excellent, and the ambiance was welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, with everything from the tortillas to the pickles made fresh and bursting with flavor. The prices were very reasonable, and we were really glad we chose to eat there. They prepare their soups fresh to order, which takes about 25 minutes—unfortunately, we were in a hurry to get back on the road. I have no doubt it would have been fantastic!
