"I have refused to eat gumbo and jambalaya until I was able to eat it first in Louisiana. I have traveled a great deal around the world, but wasn 't able to get to LA until a week ago. I was traveling from NC to TX and made sure I was going to be rolling through LA during lunch time. Because of the hurricane just coming through, I decided to avoid southern LA but I was still going to go through Shreveport. I actually chose a different place in the city that was super well rated and popular, but they were serving a Sunday brunch menu that had had no traditional Cajun food, so back to the drawing board. A few minutes on google and I settled on Crawdaddy 's. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very southern home cooking style. I ordered a cup of gumbo and a cup of jambalaya. While waiting for my food, I was still scooping out the menu and decided to add a shrimp and grits as well. The shrimp and grits came out first. I 've had this dish here in NC and while it was my favorite I 've ever had (call that a 10), this was a 9.5. The gumbo came out next with a side of rice and saltine crackers. So, as I mentioned before I 've never had gumbo before, but I have been in the food biz for a long time and has seen countless gumbos throughout my day on TV and the web. Of course, every recipe of everything is always going to be different. This gumbo was thinner than I expected, but it has a nice flavor, chicken, sausage and other ingredients in it. It had some nice heat to it, but not overwhelming. Being my first, I will rate this a 7. It wasn 't what I was expecting/hoping The jambalaya was last and CERTAINLY now least. Came out w/ saltines as well and some green onion on top. This dish is full of tons of flavor. I was already super full so I had about 3 bites and got a to go container and ate it while I was driving through Texas. 10/10!!! I will be driving through again in about a month and this is a scheduled stop."

Great food! The Bread pudding was amazing. The raw oysters were the size of a small chicken breast! They were huge and the food was just outstanding.

Stand-alone restaurant with limited parking during busy times. Restaurant and restrooms were clean and good order. Wait staff was very very friendly helpful and attentive. For appetizers the boudin balls were excellent. Our entrees are also very good. Highly recommend.

Excellent food and service! We were surprised to find this place so full at 8:00 on a Tuesday night, but we were seated very quickly. We had alligator bites, crawfish cornbread, and crab cakes with etouffe. It was all delicious! Best etouffe I've ever had. Service was wonderful. I would love to go back.

Delicious! First time dining. Stopped by on the way back from New Orleans. So glad we picked this spot. Staff was friendly and accommodating of our party of 10. Very good food. Beignets were hot and fresh. I will drive back to Shreveport just for those ?. The fried green tomatoes...?. The tomato relish stuff(not sure of the exact name)...?. Yummy yummy. The crab cakes were not all that. The inside was alright but I could not get past the breading. The Patron Margaritas... Oh yeah! The alligator was good too. Overall very happy with my visit. Would definitely go back Oh and the bathroom was clean.

We had a Birthday dinner for our grandson. When we got there they were full but our daughter in law had made reservations. We were taken to our table right away. We had to wait to order for our son for a few minutes. The waitress was very friendly and brought our drinks and appetizer with in a couple of minutes. As busy as they were I would have thought we would be waiting for a while. Once our son arrived she took our order and our food was there shortly after that. The food was outstanding. The service was great and I will be going back. I am not like some of the people who have given bad reviews, because I never considered myself more important than other people. I don't mind waiting when...

"To sum it all up, WOW. Just WOW!?? We were told to come try the food by several people on the 318 Food Page/Group here on Facebook. The food did NOT disappoint ? we got the loaded Cajun fries, the gumbo, the pho, the fried rice, the stir fry noodles, and finished off with a king cake funnel cake.? The fusion and technique used to create these lovely dishes is outstanding. You can taste the love in each dish and you can tell they truly put an effort into everything here. Our server (apologies because I don’t recall her name) was so sweet, very attentive and efficient! Even when things got a little busy, she continued to offer amazing customer service. (As a former server and manager, servers have a huge impact on the meal/dining experience) her service enhanced the experience for us and just made the visit overall VERY pleasant. The Viet Iced Coffee she made was literally to die for and I wish I could’ve ordered a whole bucket full of it??? The location is kinda “out their” but trust me, it’s worth the drive, the walk, the bike ride, etc! Support local during the pandemic (well always, but especially during these times) Don’t let the negative reviews steer you away, I assure you it’s beyond worth it, and as friendly as the staff is, give them an opportunity to fix anything if your dining experience differs from mine! 5 Stars!??? we are PCSing overseas in less than 2 weeks, but trust me when I say we’ll be back before we go!?"

"Our reservation was for 7 pm? we arrived 10 minutes before. We were told there is a wait?asked about outdoor seating as it was available on a first come first serve. We were told there were several tables that had been closed out and they were just sitting. We decided to wait for our table.. we were finally seated at 7:17 pm. We get drinks and bread and for 15 minutes we wait for our server to come get our appetizer order and we go ahead and give our entrée order? appetizercame out quickly, but the entrees took about 45 minutes so we spent 30 minutes just sitting and waiting- server had not come by to check on us. We finally get our entrees and they were a bit salty. My friends entree was too salty to eat -we asked for another entree to replace the one that was too salty to eat and the server tried to explain its seasoned but we know the difference between salty and seasoned. 30 minutes of waiting for the replacement dish- still no food so weasked to cancel the order and pay for our current ticket. The server said well it?s already been ordered- so we still asked to cancel the dish and bring our ticket. Finally the ticket came we closed out and left? this was our first timedining here and will be our last. It was noisy but we were able to have decent level conversations. I would have liked for our dining experience to be better for the prices and atmosphere. We never saw a manager to address our issues. Wehad to go to dinner after our dinner!!!"
