"Moved to downtown Chicago from NY a couple months ago and passed the Da Jerk Pit location during a trip to Sam’s Club. Happened to be in this neighborhood again and realized Da Jerk Pit relocated to Claire’s Korner. I can finally say I finally found some outstanding Jamaican food. It’s worth the price and the drive. We got the oxtail with oxtail gravy over rice and peas side of mac and cheese. As well as 1/4 jerk chicken with oxtail gravy over rice and peas side of cabbage. Oh, and a beef patty! The flavors exceeded my expectations. We will certainly be back."

The oxtails here are the best I’ve ever had—so tender and juicy! The mac and cheese complemented the oxtails perfectly. A true chef’s kiss!

Stopped in for some takeout for lunch, everyone was friendly and chit chatting, brown stew chicken was incredible, greens are next level. Plenty leftover for dinner.

I've been a customer at Claire's since she opened her restaurant years ago, and I've never had a bad meal there. The food is always exceptional. Be sure to try the homemade Pineapple Ginger Juice—it's delicious!

Very small space serving Tasty Jamaican Specialities. Tender jerked chicken w Good spice. Fried Plantains and rice and peas were tasty as well. No dine in w limited ordering area. Street parking nearby. Give it a try! View menu

I may not be an expert on Jamaican cuisine, but I have to say that this food absolutely made my day. I ordered the quarter dark chicken with just cabbage, and I can't stop thinking about how delicious it was. Truly fantastic!

I Asked for currie chicken without spicy.. Soon as I got home and started eating the chicken lit my mouth up ? ????I simply can't taste the food with all that hot spicy going on..The food was good but with all the spices I can't eat here again ?

Drove to the original location and saw they relocated. Decided to drive a little further to the new location and I was not disappointed! The food was super good, tasted fresh and authentic. The guy who took my order also made the food and was super friendly. Definitely coming back!Food: 5/5 View menu

I absolutely love Claire's cooking! She's one of the original chefs on the north side serving authentic Jamaican food, just like my dad used to make. Everything is fantastic—delicious curry, amazing jerk chicken, and delightful brown stew curry goat. You name it, she makes it wonderfully. The seasoning is spot on, and every dish is cooked to perfection. You can really taste the love and care in her food. Food: 5/5

This is a fantastic little place for Jamaican cuisine! The chicken was cooked to perfection—juicy and tender. The rice was flavorful, and the cabbage side was excellent as well. My only issue was that my stomach wasn't big enough to finish everything! The staff was friendly and informed me that the chicken might take about 15 minutes, in case I was in a rush. I didn’t mind the wait at all, and I'm so glad I chose to wait—it was definitely worth it.

"My wife and I wanted a nice laid-back place to sit outside and enjoy a fun dinner. We ended up being very disappointed by the service. Our server took about 10-15 minutes to get to the table (which feels like an eternity when you are waiting to order beverages). They took our drink order and quickly returned with a cocktail and waters but the beer we ordered was delayed by a few minutes. Not a big deal, but then the night went south. We didn't see our server again for a very long time. We started to feel like our appetizer was a little delayed when food runners showed up with our entrees. No app in sight. We let them know and eventually the server brought our app. But we were halfway into the meal by that point. The food tasted fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad. The nachos, I admit, were delicious. The mac and cheese we ordered was described to have bread crumbs but was missing that. Fortunately the server had it taken care of pretty quickly. We were never asked about having our drinks refilled. And after eating, we waited a long time for our check. It just seemed to take forever for everything. None of the problems by themselves would have been a big deal, but together it added up to a somewhat unpleasant experience. The server was nice and apologetic. They also comped us the appetizer which was nice. May have been an off night or maybe a new server, but I can't say I would recommend going on a Saturday night. Also, we did enjoy the outdoor seating area. It was a little tight, but the ambiance was nice."
