"We've gotten takeout from Desi Chef a few times and are absolutely amazed at the flavors and spice levels. We ordered online and the food was always ready when promised, within a minute or two. The pakura batter is a bit thicker than we are used to, but not in a bad way, it has a warm feeling that feels like a hug. The Tikka masala is absolutely on par and just spicy enough to get the average white guy a little sniffly. While the store itself might be a little simple from the outside, everything inside is what counts. The warm hug of amazing cuisine and the endless supply of Indian groceries and spices make an great addition to the variety of cultures Somerville's food scene offers. Please try this place if you like Indian cuisine. Please try this place if you like food. You won't be disappointed. It's a place that definitely belongs on a Food network or travel show."

The service at this restaurant is terrible and the food quality is poor. Additionally, the prices are inflated.

I ordered dosa and idly and it was good. Price and quantity were amazing. It’s a small Indian grocery store that also makes food. It’s a take out place.

We ordered catering for a small home gathering. Food was delicious, particularly the Chicken Makhani and Malai Kofta. Will definitely be ordering take-out soon. Great job!

Do not border from here unless you want to have Go issues for a week. I ordered chicken biryani and tandoori chicken and it was old chicken that was probably reheated three times. It was dry and hard as cardboard. $40 wasted! View menu

We had ordered for Samosas, Chicken biryani, Garlic Naan, Veg Manchurian n Chole Bature thru Uber. Food arrived on time. Chole Bature was really awesome. Chicken Biryani had all the spices n Samosas were also very tasty n fresh. Veg Machurian balls were ltl chewy n ltl bit sweet tasting but overall taste was ok. Prices are also reasonable.

Even though it had a low rating, it was the only place open in the area that had decent prices. I'm glad i decided to give it a chance. We ordered the Chicken Makhani, Chicken 65, Biriyani, and Tadka Daal. Everything was cooked well, and importantly spiced exactly right. The food tasted fresh, and the portions were great. The Chicken Biriyani especially was really good. The place itself is unassuming, i cant speak for the store. But the food is great.

"Great casual fine dining experience in a quiet Cambridge neighborhood.Took a visit here for dinner on a Saturday night. Its casual and rustic interior blended in perfectly with the atmosphere of the neighborhood, and our servers were very welcoming. We were initially planning to do the tasting menu, but the regular a la carte menu seemed too good to miss. We ended up ordering a bunch from their regular menu which turned out to be the right decision. The optional focaccia and rye bread with sweet scallion butter was an excellent start to the meal. From the appetizers, we had the kohlrabi cabbage, country terrine, and the scallop crudo. Topped with a mélange of earthy and floral ingredients, the scallop crudo was my favorite from the appetizers. Each bite was creamy and flavorful yet inexplicably light. Sprinkled with cranberries and spiced seeds, the kohlrabi and cabbage salad was also delightful. I especially loved the spiced seed toppings which added the right amount of nuttiness and crunchy texture.Saffron bigoli with leeks and clam sofrito had a slightly boring flavor profile, but the pappardelle verde with lamb sugo was phenomenal. I’m usually not a fan of mint toppings, but it managed to become a perfect complement to the lamb sugo. Subsequent 3 entrées were also amazing. Japanese-inspired soy marinated cod was perfectly tenderized, and its delicate texture paired well with the carrots and leeks soaked in dashi. Forking a concoction of chimichurri sauce, garlic purée, and grilled spring onion with tender pieces of beef teres major was also very satisfying. We finished off the meal with the carrot cake sundae and the lemon poppyseed cake. The dessert section lacked refined taste, but we still appreciated their effort to put something unique and interesting. Overall, a really enjoyable dinner experience at a reasonable price. Would definitely come back some day to try their tasting menu.Parking: Street parking available on Huron Ave Concord Ave"

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
