"A longtime favorite among local surfers, Lucy's, as it is known, has been serving Mexican-style dishes since the late 1930s. While Lucy may have passed on, her family is still in the kitchen preparing her authentic cuisine. The restaurant, El Patio, exudes the charm of a quaint Mexican village, with its funky colors and small size. Tourists often overlook it, but don't be deceived by the front of the building. The real gem is the terrace (hence the name El Patio). To dine here, simply enter through the gate at the back and put your name on the list. Don't be surprised if you are seated "family style" - the patrons are friendly and may even share their beer pitchers. Personal favorites include the famous Mehltaco, Enchiladas, and Chile Rellenos. Arrive by 8:45 as they close early on Sundays and Mondays. Remember to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards."

El Patio is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in southern California, and I come as often as I can.

Family tradition. I've been here since I was a hain! Love the food and service.. Like family. No attitude. Old Orange County safe.

This restaurant is advertised as a Wi-Fi hotspot with outdoor seating, friendly service, and delicious food. The Wi-Fi connection is also reliable.

Family owed and operated for many many years. If you want authentic, healthy, scrumptious Mexican food, go here. I took friends from England there rather than to a chain restaurant. They loved it and the server. View menu

One of the largest old standby business in the area worth support. It is family owned and totally authentic. Great place to have a few beers, enjoy Grandma cooking (tacos and soups are my Faves) and meet some nice people. Great place to have a party too!

I love authentic Mexican food. When I walked in to el patio, I thought it would just be another Americanized Mexican restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. It was all delicious and the plate i got was not Americanized at all. Also, the staff was wonderful. Will definitely come here again.

Love this place. Waitresses are super nice, almost like getting food at your mom or grandma's. Friday night halibut tacos are fantastic. On Wednesdays, old doc Peterson is there playing guitar there so you can listen to some music and maybe get your eyes checked. Super local. Kinda like Turks. 10/10, would do again. View menu

This restaurant is my absolute favorite. Out of all the restaurants I have visited, this one stands out the most to me. I always recommend it to my friends, as it never fails to provide a superb meal. The food is outstanding and diverse, with a large menu to choose from. The staff is professional and friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. In addition, the prices are reasonable. I have no doubt in giving this restaurant my highest praise.
