"We've akways enjoyed Elephant Bar, esoecially the Happy Hour menu and prices. When we lived in CA we went to the La Mirada location. We moved to AZ a few years ago and had enjoyed the Peoria location until it recently closed. We dined at the La Mirada location while visiting in CA this week. Our waiter was very good, but the service seemed slow. Our waiter was aware of the long wait for our meals and brought us a complimentary appetizer with an apology for the long wait. We appreciated that very much. While we were still waiting the manager came to our table with an explanation and apology. She said that of the chefs, who were all related to each other, had a family emergency so they were extremely short staffed. She was very apologetic andand offered to grant us a discount for our inconvenience. Also very much appreciated. Our food was not quite up to par as we had been accustomed to in past visits. Also, my steak was very overcooked and had to be sent back. Our bill arrived and had been discounted slightly, but there were several errorsovercharges. The waiter apologized and took care of the errors. It was a very long dining experience, and while we were not completely pleased with our meals, the staff did handle things well under the circumstances"

We were heading to La Mirada Theatre for a play so this was the perfect place for dinner before heading to the theater. Food was very good and service was excellent. No concern about whether we would get finished in time to get to our play.

This was the second time I visited and it was about the same as the first: nothing great, just pretty good food and pretty good service. I was disappointed that they didn 't seem to have my reservation, despite it being an Open Table res. But the problem with the computers excuse was what I heard and that is a problem with many restaurants nowadays. Anyway, I would return some other time to dine it 's okay.
