"While snowbirding in southern US, a relative who is in the restaurant business in Houston recommended Elijah’s to me as a San Diego area must go. So I went. The ambiance and decor is spot on deli at its best. The grand entrance under the big sign made me smile. Lots of well deserved ‘chutzpah’ here. The commercial home made chicken noodle soup was fabulous. Lots of everything in it including flavour. My friend had an o Leyte and liked it very much I had the 1/2 sandwich-soup combo. My corned beef sandwich was good with a reasonable but not excessive amount of meat in it. The meat tasted good, like home-made corned beef should. Bur it certainly is not up to the standards being set by the likes of Chompie’s in Phoenix, Ken and Ziggy’s in Houston, or Merrick’s in Long Island or even, panzer’s in TORONTO, ON. That said, it was still in my top 10 for corned beef. My bottom line here It is very good but there are better in nearby LOS ANGELES, CA which would be in positions 5-9 on my top 10 deli list. Do come here for good deli at reasonable prices, with easy parking on the shopping center lot"

We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade corned beef and perfectly pressed Reuben sandwich at this restaurant. My wife tried the veggie Reuben and was very pleased with it. Our server was attentive and charming. We will definitely be returning!

Excellent duck salad, steak sandwich, half chicken, and crispy fries. Friendly service. Update: Got the Liver and Onions, Brisket, Eggs Benedict, and the French Dip plates. All very very tasty. The prices are a bit high compared to competitors larger portions.

I was here for an event. The service was really nice, they checked in a good amount and our waitress was really nice. We got the Carne Asada Fries and Napoleon. The fries were good. The Napoleon was a bit hard, difficult to cut despite it being a light pastry dessert. If you’re hosting an event, it’s pretty nice for that.

I ordered from this restaurant for the first time through DoorDash while at work and craving something simple and not too fatty. I decided to try their tuna melt and it exceeded my expectations - it was delicious. I was so impressed that I took my wife there over the weekend, as she loves a good tuna melt and this place did it justice. I also tried the poke bowl, which was also fantastic. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable given the high quality of the food. I am considering trying their knish next time, as I am looking forward to my next visit.
