"You will be delighted by the new look of Ellen's Bakery and Cafe. After waiting for three months during the expansion and renovations, we found the atmosphere, food, and staff to be exceptional. I truly enjoyed every bite of the Duck Confit Lasagna. Don't miss the Pork Belly appetizer and Lobster Bisque. Our server, Marta, was knowledgeable and made our dining experience unforgettable. Kudos to Chef George for his creative and fresh menu. Manager Ray, thank you for introducing yourself and sharing your expertise on the wine list. This is the best bakery and dessert spot in Metro Detroit. Congratulations! We will definitely be dining here again."

Always a great meal. We typically go there for breakfast. They have renovated and now open for dinner and have a liquor license. We will be back to try the dinner menu as it looks really good. View menu

I have always enjoyed delicious meals at Ellen's, whether I'm there for breakfast or lunch. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service. The food and desserts are amazing, and I highly recommend this restaurant. Two of my favorite dishes are the turkey avocado pita and the lobster bisque.

Have been going to Ellen's for years for breakfast and lunch. Had our first dinner there last Saturday. The meal was the same high quality we have come to expect and appreciate from Ellen's. The wine was good and the service was great. We will definitely return. Welcome back Ellen's. We have missed you.

Ellen's is a hidden gem. The food is top-notch and the menu has a wide variety of delicious options. The bakery on site offers a great selection of bread, cakes, cookies, and other sweet treats. They are always bustling and close early, at 2 on Sundays and 3 during the week. Definitely worth a visit. You will love it. Plus, they have recently expanded and now have a bar that serves alcohol. Try their amazing mimosas!

I went to Ellen's Bakery Café for lunch with four friends. I had never heard of this café before, as I live in the neighborhood. We had a fantastic meal with excellent service. The Maurice salad, vegetable quesadillas, and pulled pork sandwich were some of the delicious dishes we tried. Before leaving, I picked up some focaccia rolls and mini desserts from the bakery. I can't wait to try them with my family at dinner on Friday night. The bakery had a nice selection of desserts, cakes, and breads that made it worth the visit. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

"UPDATE: I never heard back from the manager or anyone at all. Since I have to work whenever I'm available, I wasn't able to physically drive back there that week. But why wasn't there a note left for the manager about what happened to follow up on this when they got in? This place was really great when it first opened. Speaking from experience as an F&B Hospitality Consultant, I know for a fact that the little issues often ripple out, making bigger problems, which in turn often lead to that restaurant not succeeding. I did really enjoy this in the past.Original post: Why isn't there at least an assistant manager on duty who can take care of problems when they arise? I ordered one thing and it was wrong. Twice ?. The second one I didn't notice until I was all the way back home. I ordered online through the Google Maps app, tapped on Lefty's, and then hit the order online button. I followed the prompts, made sure NOT TO ADD ANY ONIONS, then added a side of curly fries, paid online with a credit card, and went to pick it up. The price was different than what I had on my screen, and I didn't think it was mine because of that. It turned out to be mine, though. I left, got a little bit down the road, and found no fries, only mozzarella sticks (they make me sick). I turned around, got my fries after a minute, and went home. Only to find mass amounts of onions mixed into the cheese and meat. I tried to dig them out and gave up. I don't know about you, but once you've dug your fingers all through something like this, it's a nope for me. I'm not into finger food that's cold because you had to dig your fingers through it in order to make it correctly. Now, I have to spend more of my time and resources to drive up there and hopefully get this fixed? That's if I have time. Let us hope that the employee I spoke with leaves a note for the manager. Idk what happened in the past so many months, but it's not what it was when it opened."
