"it was all, just okay. our reservation was made for 9:15 o'clock, but they had the table at 8:30 o'clock. it was in order, but for the certain time that we have chosen it was slightly inconvenient. the place was busy what was expected, but the noise level was incredible. it was difficult to talk about the table, even after most of the other mozens were cleared out. about eating, it was good, nothing spectacular. were very small for the price. shrimp tacos were literally a single jumbo garnel and the sauce in a tortilla. the rock steak was decent with delicious sauce, but again, only not exactly what was expected for the price. not sure I would come back on another trip, but if they only want a regular night out, I guess it's a decent stop."

Went for an anniversary dinner. Appetizer Flatbread) was good but main course especially my wife’s Gorgonzola shrimp) was very disappointing. 6 shrimp med to large at best) served with toast. My wife is not a big eater but she headed for the fridge when we got home.

We had a great time at The Essex. The location is close to so many venues and events uptown. Wonderful dinner and service. I loved the warmed Brussels sprouts salad. I had the grilled salmon with it. It was a big portion too. My husband had the gnocchi and he said it was great. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with dinner, as well. Lots of interesting wine choices. Nice chilled vibe in the dining area. Bar has its own cool upbeat style, too. Nice patio, too. We were heading to a Jazz show after dinner and our server was really helpful about keeping us on schedule. We will be back!
