"We had a Friday evening reservation. Seating was done quickly. The person serving as our wait person was friendly and she did a nice job of appearing when needed. Expectation vs reality is truly the way to sum up the food experience. ONLINE MENU VERSUS RESTAURANT MENU The menu online and the menu we were given were starkly different. Honestly it felt like bait and switch. There was no Phoulourie on the menu. There were no Roti dishes or Buss Up Shut dishes (which equates to 10 missing items). There were 3 sides missing from the menu (Callaloo, Rice and Beans, and the Boiled and Fried Cassava). The menu had no drinks. I don’t know if they actually had peanut punch or any of the others. I asked if they had sorrel tea and the wait person advised they would check because they weren’t sure. They did have it. SORRELL TEA It was OK. A bit sweeter than others I have had. CORN SOUP Quite tasty. Looks nothing like the photo online, this was more of a puree. CARIBBEAN SALAD I don’t know how long it was sitting around. Mediocre at best. VEGGIES MEDLEY Served room temperature. I am not sure why it wasn’t served hot. The pumpkin puree was good. There were 3 green beans on the plate. The chickpea portion lack flavor. I spent a lot of time pushing it around on the plate. The rice was edible. CHUNKY VEGETABLE CHOW MEIN Served cold. Overly sweetened sauce. SWEET CINNAMON PLANTAIN Served cold. I have had these before elsewhere. Cinnamon is usually an enhancement not the overkill that existed here. MACARONI PIE It was good. Unfortunately, it was also served cold. I have to wonder if food is being made or if it is just sitting in hot plates not kept up to temperate. The it was quite a disappointing experience. I would expect the food to be served at temperature and have some flavor. We ate what we could because we had an event to go to and no opportunity to get anything else for the night. What I do know is that we won’t be going back again."

I found the food to be cold, and the rice was tough. The drinks arrived with too much ice, so by the time we were ready to drink them, they were watery. The staff informed us that our food would take 20 minutes, but we didn't receive it until 45 minutes later. Overall, the customer service and food quality left a lot to be desired.

A staff member then brought out another small table and combined it with the tiny one in an attempt to create a more usable setup. Although the two tables were uneven, they covered them with a cloth and reset the place settings. We were asked if we wanted to use that arrangement but repeated our request for the empty table for four, only to be told "no" again. As we were heading to a show and needed to eat beforehand, we eventually decided to take the uneven small table. A few minutes later, the couple who arrived after us was seated at the table for four that we had originally requested. The service was slow; we had to ask for water even after I initially ordered it as my drink. Our meals...

"Fantastic neighborhood gem. Food was flavorful, cozy, inviting, and fun. Not fussy or arrogant, but cooked with love, execution, and straight from the heart. My favorite was the Burrata dish, a cold cheese dish with the seductively sumptuous balsamic glaze and the best thinsliced prosciutto I ever had thankfully not too salty as it was packed with flavor. The bread was fantastic for mopping up the rich tomato based seafood app.My wife and I loved the seafood spaghetti dish, although the dark brown think buckwheat spaghetti surprised us at first. The rich white wine broth and clams were fantastic, but the noodles were perplexing and intriguing and fantastic!. The whole wheat made it seem like it might be tough but it was smooth and chewy, while still hearty. And yet it almost felt too soft and about melt, although there was a firm elasticity to it! The scallops risotto was rich and decadent. Temp was good. The service was good, the outdoor ambience was wonderful, the napkin's bluegray hue resonated with my wife, and the plates were gorgeous.Overall, it was excellent and worthy of going back and recommending to friends and family. The meal may not have been technically flawless the delicious octopus could stand to be grilled or cooked a tad longer, but it was still perfectly authentic, heartfelt, and admirably executed. It straddled the fine line between elevatedelegant and homey. It accomplished what it set out to do and delivered on what one would expect! We live outside the city, so we won't be able to visit often, which may be good, because this is such a fine neighborhood establishment—if I lived nearby, I'd definitely be in danger of blowing my monthly dining budget"
