FOLC - Menu

Had a really enjoyable dining experience here last week with a friend of mine We wanted to try a little bit of everything so we shared plates.

Chron.com kindly shared an article about the best burgers in Texas, and the brisket burger with pork belly at Folc was ranked at the top of the list.

Food was excellent. Staff was not very friendly or outgoing mostly silent. I don't need another best friend, but it's nice to be welcomed and made to feel welcome.

I went with my friends to try their Restaurant Week Menu. The food was fantastic, but the service was a bit slow. They were swamped with many guests, so it took a while to get our first cocktail. Despite that, we plan to return because the food was so delicious. Hopefully, the service will be improved next time.

Went for the Texas Monthly burger. Very good--not your typical burger. Wine list was excellent, but we had to ask twice for one glass of wine, and the beer was never delivered. Don't know if it was waitress's first day, but service should have been better for a restaurant of this caliber. Water glasses were never refilled. Shrimp and grits were very good. View menu

We went to FOLC for a family birthday dinner. Our first time to dine here. Everything was absolutely fantastic! Fresh, delicious food. Friendly, knowledgable waitstaff. Casual relaxed atmosphere. We all were WOWed! Dining here was the perfect way to make a special day a special time! Nice job! We will be back very soon! Those hamburgers! !OH MY GOODNESS! They are the BEST burgers in Texas so Texas Monthly got that spot on!

The food was fantastic! We were very disappointed with the service though. Long waits on beverages, ordering, and very very long on food delivery. Additionally, with a party of standard orders (no special requests) there was about a minute gap from when the first two plates arrived at the table and the last. But quality of food was good enough that I would still consider going back and I have already recommended to friends--with a caveat about service.

Our visit was try the burger that was featured in Texas Monthly on a Tuesday evening. One person in the group wanted to try the Fried Chicken another menu item FOLC is known for in the area. The server took the order then came back to tell us they were out of Fried Chicken on a TUESDAY nite! In lieu of the chicken she went with the Schnitzel another fav on the menu only when asked how she would like the egg that tops the item; she asked for poached. The sever came back and said they could NOT poach the egg. Kitchen basics must have had the dishwasher working that evening.
