"I've been savoring breakfast delights at The Goddess and the Baker in Chicago for the past couple of days, and each experience has been nothing short of amazing. From the Iron Man scrambled Egg Breakfast to the flavorful Chicken Tinga and the array of healthy options, every dish has exceeded expectations. What truly stands out is the attention to detail, including the choice of Macadamia milk and oat milk for coffee. The unique and delightful twist in coffee options adds an extra layer to the overall experience. The coffee itself is exceptional, complementing the diverse menu perfectly. In every visit, The Goddess and the Baker has consistently delivered excellence—from the food variety to the quality of service. It's a place where flavors come alive, and the commitment to offering both delicious and health-conscious options is commendable. I wholeheartedly give them a well-deserved five-star rating for creating a breakfast haven that excels in taste, innovation, and overall dining pleasure."

The prices are too expensive for the small portions. sad because the place has a lot of potential.

The best place to sit down, relax and see trains behind you! It’s a very good cafeteria with one of the best coffees I’ve ever drunk in Chicago

Great selection of pastries, sandwiches and drinks. But the seating area is small, noisy and overcrowded. You can't really sit in and enjoy your food. It has to be a takeaway. View menu

The service leaves much to be desired; the staff tends to be unhelpful and struggles with anything beyond the usual requests. While the dishes are visually appealing, they don't taste as good as they look, and the prices are on the higher side. However, they do make for great photos on Instagram!

There are plenty of tasty food choices at this restaurant, with both healthy and indulgent options available. The cold brew coffee is a rare find in Chicago, especially during the winter months. While it wasn't the best cold brew I've ever had, it was definitely an improvement from the one I tried at Stan's Donuts.

We arrived at 9am on a Saturday height of the busy time and still only had to wait about 10 minutes for our food and a wee bit more for our drinks. It was a little tricky to find a seat at the long table for the two of us, but even that was endurable. The food was well flavored, drinks tasty and the hot chocolate was absolutely decadent. Very mid. Partner got the burrito, and was disappointed by the seasoning but 'the salsa saves it. ' I got the lox bagel plate and a spinach croissant, bagel was as expected, if a little doughy, the croissant was tough, the spinach filling kinda bitter? Not to mention the flow of ordering and receiving is wack no one knows where to stand or whos in line.

Food is so delicious, fresh, and healthy. I often go there for lunch and get great customer service. Katy was very helpful. Although her colleague was brief and dismissive to my colleague, telling us to go to the front and ask for a to-go box, Katy took the initiative by going to the front and grabbing one for us. Katy handled the request properly and most hospitably. No customer wants to leave their food unattended to get a to-go box. Way-to-go Katy for doing your job well!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
