"Friend and I came here on Tuesday for lunch at about 11:30. I did notice right away that it was very clean. The menus were clean, too. Not sticky or greasy. Everyone who worked there was really friendly and attentive. It wasn't busy, maybe 2 tables beside us. I didn't think much of it at first. I was really surprised at how expensive it was. I ordered my favorite sandwich, a BLT, which wasn't that pricey at about $14.99. My friend got a patty melt, which I think was $18.99. An omelet was almost $20.00. We didn't order anything other than the BLT and the patty melt, but we talked about the prices, and we figured that's why there was nobody there. So when the food came, the presentation was great, but it was the actual food that impressed me. The BLT was really, really good. They didn't skimp on the ? bacon. They used larger'ish pieces of toast, and the lettuce and tomatoes were so fresh. The tomatoes weren't squishy, and they actually had flavor. There was a serious mound of curly fries. I regret not taking a picture. I'm torn with this review. Yes, it was expensive, but the quality and the large sandwiches that we got were right on. Cooked perfectly, clean crispy lettuce, a very generous amount of thick bacon and tasty firm tomatoes. Big fat patty melt on big fresh bread. I think it was about a half pound. So, in a way, it was worth it, but other menu items seemed too expensive. We had a good time, we enjoyed the employees and our food was delicious. Parking: There are about 25-30 parking spots connected to the building. Kid-friendliness: It's a Golden Nugget, so it's a family type of diner."

I love coming here. All staff is super friendly and truly make you feel like a valued customer. They greet you with a smile and are willing to answer any questions. The food portions are great and the atmosphere is great as well. Good job to everyone who works here!

Wow, all I can say is that this food was gross, sad, and expensive. It pained me to pay 30 bucks for a meal with very undercooked, watery eggs that soaked the entire skillet, burnt to a crisp toast, and bitter coffee that was even skimped on when it came to filling the mug. Clearly they are skimming people to maximize profits and have no concern about the quality of the food being served. Please, please do yourself a favor and visit any of the many other diners nearby for a much better food to price quality ratio. Will not be going back! View menu

It pains me to review a restaurant that was once beloved but it be like that sometimes. The price point is completely wack for the quality of the food that was served. I got a skillet, and it was just very below average overall. The eggs were watery; and not like goopy but literally so undercooked that there was a puddle of water in my plate, and the toast was burnt. Now I don't expect much from the golden nugget restaurants, but I do expect an edible meal at the price point of 18 dollars a plate. 22 dollars a head with a cup of coffee. There are a plethora of other breakfast restaurants in the area serving high quality food at the same price point. I recommend going to those instead.

All the waitresses were talking about gossip or something and they were all gathered together talking about a personal topic. I am very struck by the fact that they attended to me in a hurry and the person at the front collecting payment did not give me the receipt, she had an annoyed face and told me three times, thank you for coming. Thanks for coming. Thank you for coming, hurry up and as soon as I finished, she was talking about the same topic that everyone was talking about, something like a topic of infidelity. Very rushed service only to go to the corner again to talk about the same topic. I always cook 98% at home but today I felt the need to go out and be pampered and have breakfast...

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
