"Grub attempts to be different for all the wrong reasons and why the chain is now reduced to this final few locations. It is a failure as a chain. Update after 7th and Final visit Food made me sick last visit. Do not accept cash forced to use a credit card forced to tip or not tip before you get your food forced to use a public touch screen and put your hands on it before you eat so you are forced to go wash your hands before eating. I hate ordering at this restaurant like really really hate it. Until this last visit I always tipped when I paid but realized this system makes no sense to me had to think about why I hate it. It is a bad system for many reasons that costs the staff money. I will not return to this restaurant but if I did I would tip in cash after the service. My view of tipping is my relationship with the person who waited on me, this system ruins that as I don't know where the money is going. The cashier that pressed a few buttons? What if they screw up your food on purpose because you didn't tip enough? You are forced to do something you don't want to do before you want to do it. I love tipping big for great service to inform the person that did the work they did a great job! Burgers were all prepared exactly as I wanted. The cheese fires are great but it is a two person appetizer so I can't order it anymore it. For reference it ends up being a 22 dollar lunch before tip. Kitchen is hidden in the back. Easy parking open free parking lot almost nobody in the restaurant 50% of the time I am alone or one other person is eating. I time my visit to avoid the crowd always works. Out of 7 visits I had only had one person in front of me in line. Good bye Grub!"

I found a piece of wire in the bun of my burger. I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

"Why am I in College Station?" people may wonder. It's not your typical Texas destination, that's for sure.

We loved the burgers abd fries. The sweet potato fries were great. We got drinks from the bar that were tasty!

The food was excellent, but it was on the more expensive side. None of the dishes came with fries or onion rings.

I visited this restaurant with a group of four on a Friday night around 7 pm. We had to wait in a long line that extended all the way to the cash register. View menu

I had blackened shrimp tacos. Absolutely fabulous. I would get it again if I go back. Homemade tortillas, coleslaw, shrimp was divine. There also was steamed veggies. It was delicious!

The restaurant went from having the best happy hour in town to the worst. The price they advertise for happy hour is actually higher than the prices listed on the menu. It's just ridiculous.

"Our 5pm reservation was promptly honored on our arrival. The restaurant is in what appears to be a former airport administration building and sits nearly on the tarmac. We started our meal with a glass of local Texas winery Bending Branch Cab Sav wine. It was by far the best red wine either of us has tasted and well worth the semi expensive price. Next was Salmon Sliders and Potato Skins appetizers. The salmon was absolutely delicious. Cooked to a perfect crispiness. The potao skins were below average. They were either left over from lunch or held at a totally too high temperature post baking. Either of those will cause the edges to dry out and the potato meat to turn gray in color. The 6oz filets redeemed this one faux pas magnificently. Just melt in your mouth perfection. We had mashed sweet potatoes, cheesy grits and fruit with the entrees. My wife said the sweet potatoes were great but I never touch them so we will take her word for it. The grits were different from my usual Deep South experience but fantastic anyway. The fruit was cold, sweet and fresh. Our server, April was very well trained, beautiful and very intelligent. She graduates from Texas AM this spring. (If you cant go to Kentucky or Alabama then I guess AM will suffice. Lol) Overall Gate 12 was everything we expected and more including the beautiful view of the airport comings and goings. If we could fly anywhere in the world for dinner we would say no thanks and dine right here at Gate 12 College Station Texas."
