"The staff was friendly, but they seemed to lack some knowledge. When I asked about vegan options, the server surprisingly started talking about chicken! Once that was clarified, the dish I ordered turned out to be very tasty. However, I'm a bit hesitant to return due to my concerns about their understanding of veganism. My dining companion ordered a soup combo, expecting to sample three different soups, but it came served all together in one bowl! I couldn't believe it. When she requested them to be served separately, the server refused, though she did remove the charge from the bill and quickly offered an alternative, which my friend said was quite good."

The food was exquisite and well-seasoned, the prices were quite reasonable, and the service was impeccable.

Ate there 3 years ago with my family. The food was similar to what I grew up eating as a kid of Indian ancestry. I loved it. We didn't eat there on this trip.

$70 later for 2 entrees and a side of Naan. The Naan was raw and sweet. Not fluffy with garlic and butter like I ordered. The food was bland. It was so disappointing ?.Food: 1/5 View menu

Picked up Tandoori chicken and a chicken curry to go. Really delicious. Naan bread is so addictive! The samosas were brilliant. Looking forward to trying other dishes. Friendly and helpful staff.

Ordered chai and veg momo. Chai did not have a lot of flavor and was too much sugar. Momo was not great either since the filling/stuffing was not much but the outer layer was thick and uncooked in some of them.

I 'm going to have to say this wasn 't very good. The chicken Tika masala was only passing. The nan was awful. It was kind of thick and didn 't seem cooked all the way. The lamb biryani was pretty good. I got the regular versions of the meals and maybe it needed to be spicier to be better? View menu

This was my first time having Himalayan food. The food was decent, good flavor and adequate portion sizes (small appetites can share). The atmosphere was not that great. We stood inside for about 5 minutes before someone came out of the back and noticed us. The same song was played on repeat for the entire meal which did become tedious.

Staff is nice, but not very knowledgable. I asked what could be done as vegan and she started talking about chicken!Once I got that cleared up, the dish I ordered was quite tasty. However, I'm not sure I'd go back due to lingering worries about their understanding of veganism. My dining companion ordered a soup combo thinking she'd get try 3 soups, but it's served with all 3 soups in 1 bowl! WHAT? When pressed, the server refused to bring them in separate bowls, but she did remove them from the bill and quickly brought an alternative, which I'm told was quite good.

"So I suppose it's up to the manager of a restaurant whether to replace a returned entree at no extra charge the customer for the uneaten food. Whatever the policy at Sakana (we didn't ask when we saw the item in question added to our bill, we didn't feel like getting into an argument), we still found the attitude of the server when my girlfriend didn't enjoy her spicy miso ramen to be unacceptable. Instead of simply offering a replacement when my girlfriend explained that she couldn't taste any miso in the broth, the lady server told us that the miso ramen tasted as intended and that adding more paste to the broth would make it too salty. It still didn't taste very good, but whatever. Fine. My gf orders the curry ramen instead. It's pretty decent, nothing to write home about. At the end of the meal, we get charged full price for the spicy miso even tho all she ate of it was the egg added at additional cost. Did not mention this before the bill came out. We probably would've moved on without complaint if we hadn't been talked down to when trying to replace the order or had the return policy more clearly explained to us. Will not be coming back due to this experience. I've been to better and more expensive restaurants that return and replace an entree, no questions asked, especially when -you didn't eat it-. I've had $50 steaks taken back without being charged, but you're gonna die on the hill of your watery $15 ramen? No thx. The food, for the most part, is okay. My tonkutsu ramen broth was acceptable, tho my pork was overcooked. My gf's replacement curry ramen was better than the spicy miso, but it was not great. It did have tasty fried chicken, but very few other ingredients besides noodles and spinach. She wasn't so into it. Where the cuisine shines is the sushi. The fish tastes like it's well sourced and is adequately competitive for the price range. We didn't love the ramen experience, but we were actually considering coming back just for the sushi before we saw that they'd charged us for the returned food. The shrimp shumai appetizer was tasty but a little skimpy on the portions, four tiny dumplings for $8 or $9. Ultimately, Sakana is worth going to if you just want sushi and don't mind a somewhat cramped and loud atmosphere during peak hours and a snooty attitude from the staff. I'd have added more stars if not for the service experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Nigiri"
