"The food was disappointing overall. The chicken was excessively salty, the cabbage was undercooked and lacked seasoning, and the macaroni and cheese was overly firm with no flavor. The rasta pasta looked dry and uninviting. Prices are inflated for what is clearly subpar food, which doesn't even resemble authentic West Indian cuisine. Additionally, the staff were not welcoming. Honestly, if it weren't for the limited dining options in the area, I doubt this place would stay in business. What West Indian restaurant serves curry but doesn't offer roti? Sprinkling parsley flakes over the dishes won't mask the lack of care and substance in the cooking. It's evident when someone is cooking for profit rather than out of passion for the craft. I won’t be returning. If more people had the courage to be honest about their experiences, perhaps the restaurant would improve. However, I suspect that many who praise the food simply don't have a true understanding of delicious cuisine, nor can they cook it themselves."

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was poor, the portions were small, and the staff was rude. I requested oxtail gravy and they wanted to charge me an additional 75 cents for it. The food was also overly salty. I would not recommend this place.

I've been ordering from this restaurant for years, and I always come back for more. The rice and peas are incredible, and the fruity pebble waffle is both unique and delicious. Every dish is consistently good, and the oxtail is cooked to perfection. The curry chicken is always fresh. They consistently do a wonderful job!

Good food but Over priced like if their location was 42nd st time square, and you will get charged for EVERYTHING. You will get charged an extra fee of .75 for gravy, you will get charged an additional $1.75 for half of a wing not even a full wing. If they could they will probably charge you for utencils. The food here is absolutely delicious! Whether you choose the curry or the coconut shrimp, the curry or the brown stew chicken, the sweet hilli fish, or the rasta pasta, everything is incredibly flavorful! Plus, they offer dessert! If you have a sweet tooth like I do, be sure to try the coconut cake—it’s sure to satisfy your cravings!

I ordered Jerk Chicken in Spicy Jerk Sauce, Mac Cheese, Plantain, Steam Cabbage, Rice Peas, Chicken Shrimp Rasta Pasta in Stew Chicken sauce, Spicy Beef patty, Mild beef patty, and it was all fantastic. I also ordered 1 each of every D G Jamaican soda, Tropical Rhythm drink, and Ting, 10 different drinks, and they were all in stock, which was nice no repeats. I ordered a lot of food because it was for today, tomorrow, the day after... The food stands up very well to reheating in the regular oven. I'm very very very happy with Island Foodie and will order again.
