"First time coming here, enjoyed it very much. My wife and I have eaten at some of the best barbecue places in Texas, Pinkerton’s, Salt Lick, Truth, and in comparison Killen’s is clearly in the top tier of its class. We started off with the pork belly burnt ends as an appetizer, and that was delicious. Nice crisp and spicy crust on it, tender inside. Very nice. I had a two meat plate with moist brisket, pork ribs, with creamed corn and baked beans as the side. My wife had the one meat plate with sausage, mac and cheese, and slaw. What was best The brisket is superior. It has a great bark, great flavor, succulent and perfect. Ribs were very good, same smoky flavor and nice bark. Sausage was excellent, spiced so well and nice smoky flavor to it as well, with generous two link portion. Sides Beans were good but a little sweet. I probably would have liked them more if I had ordered the mustard based potato salad to offset the sweet. The creamed corn was delicious, very nice. Slaw was excellent. Mac and cheese was very mild. I like a little sharp cheese in my mac and cheese and this was not it, but my wife liked it. For dessert my wife ordered bread pudding and I ordered creme brulee cheesecake. The bread pudding comes with a cinnamon dulce over it and it’s excellent. The creme brulee cheesecake is unique and delightful. We will be back. This was a terrific meal."
