"So first of all, while looking in the area for good bento lunch box options, I came across Kampai Sushi House, which was very close to where I was, and fairly highly rated. However, when I went to the actual website to check the menu, etc., I was immediately confused. Their website makes it sound as if they are not open for in-house seating/dining. It simply says they are now open for take-out, and it makes reference to checking back on their website for any changes. You have to scroll far down the site to find hours and menus, but still no mention of in-house dining. A call to the restaurant revealed they ARE open for dining, as well as take-out. They suggested that the site hadn 't been updated since Covid... um, hello, that was years ago, as far as businesses being closed and only available for take-out. So once I figured out I could eat there, I decided to give it a try. Ordered a standard chicken bento box. The included egg flower soup was too salty (and this is coming from someone who generally likes things more heavily salted.. and is also a bit salty ; . And the bento box food... salad was not crisp and fresh like most places, the rice was dry instead of sticky and fresh, and the chicken was overcooked and bland... and also a bit dry. Overall, very average, and definitely not somewhere I 'd go again. Far better choices around."

Smaller place inside but the sushi is bomb! Very clean and peaceful inside with really good prices for lunch hours! The sushi was by the far the best I’ve had in ages! Will be back for sure! View menu

This local neighborhood restaurant is a great find for sushi lovers. I've visited twice and have truly enjoyed their rolls. While some items are priced a bit higher than at other places I've tried, the quality makes it worthwhile.

Instead of removing the charge entirely, they only reduced it from $32 to $25. When I voiced my disagreement, I was given a weak excuse that I didn’t accept. The server then became rude, and the manager was even more disrespectful. I was taken aback by their behavior, which understandably upset me. I ended up paying the bill, handing over the $25. Going forward, we'll spend our $10,000 a year at a different sushi restaurant. That manager should be held accountable, but I suspect he might be an owner, which is even worse. Poor Tom.

"Our first visit to the restaurant last night came highly recommended, thanks to a friend's glowing review of their vegan menu. We were pretty excited and ordered two vegan meatball subs. The trouble began when we waited for nearly 25 minutes after placing our order. Our server, a guy named Ryan (I think), came over and told us they were all out of vegan meatballs. Naturally, we asked why it took so long for them to figure this out, which seemed to fluster poor Ryan a bit. However, he was polite throughout the conversation. We decided to switch our order to one regular meatball sub and a vegan eggplant sub, thinking all was well. But, surprise, surprise, Ryan returned a few minutes later to tell us they were also out of eggplant. At this point, we had been waiting for almost 40 minutes with no food in sight, so we asked for the check to pay for the soda my husband had been nursing. Here's why the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths: 1. Why in the world didn't the waitstaff know about these shortages in advance? It seems like basic communication within the restaurant was seriously lacking. Customers shouldn't be left hanging, wondering if they'll actually get what they ordered. 2. It's kind of baffling that Ryan was left to break the bad news not just once, but twice. You'd think the manager, who we saw chatting with other diners just a few feet away, would have taken the initiative to come over and speak to us directly. 3. I was made to feel like I should be really grateful they decided not to charge us for the Diet Coke my husband drank. Overall it was a terrible experience and no effort was made to rectify what happened. I obviously cannot comment on the food since we never recieved any. As for customer service...HORRIBLE!"
