Best Sushi We?ve found in Tampa, even Takeout. Enjoy some of the other popular places (SoHo, Ebisu, Umami) but KELP tops it. love their unique menu, which often comes with creative roles that die for! Must taste the bowls, great place all around.

Food is always spectacular! Dined with a new server tonight and quite a few items were missing, but the Server was still very sweet and the manager was right on top of it and very generous. We will continue to come in regularly and were still impressed by the hospitality! It continues to be one of our favorite spots in Tampa!!

We ordered two platters for a birthday celebration at our home and they were fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious and pleased all 12 guests in our home. The platters came with plenty of soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger. The order was ready right on time. We will definitely be ordering these again for future celebrations! View menu

The waitress spilled the soup, didn't even apologize or clean the table. The bowl was not good, the sushi had little filling, and the truth seemed to be from the supermarket, the presentation of the food was not the best, it did not look appetizing. Only spring rolls were good. We have finished our food because we had not eaten all day since we traveled from Orlando and it was the first food place that we entered and to tell the truth it was disappointment.

Had never heard of this place before, it's kinda hidden in the back of the plaza but so glad I tried it! They have a good variety of dishes. My favorite item was the Krab Rangoon, the filling was warm and the sauce was the perfect addition. My sushi roll was okay for a speciality role I was expecting a little more. My boyfriend had the build your own sushi burrito and enjoyed it.Our server was very sweet and helpful as well. The indoor area is a bit small so I can see how it can probably get pretty busy on a weekend.

This place used to be pretty good. It have gone downhill. They changed menus and all removed the actual good food they had. I made an order for pick up, they told me 30min, it’s ok, I was there 45min after. Been waiting 15 min on the pick up station, 2 girls have asked me my name and look for my order, nothing. Waited longer, another girl comes by, found my order at first try, it’s been there the whole time, in front of us.. Gotta be kidding me. I actually really enjoyed the food here. It's a bit hidden behind the plaza but you know what they say about hole in the wall places. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Always making sure we had everything we need. I order the built your own sushiritto which was actually very good. The salmon and tuna is what worries me the most but for this dish it tasted and looked fresh. My favorite dish was the Krab Rangoon. Although it was imitation crab it was a unique twist because they added a sweet sauce which I haven't seen before but it works, because it tasted great.

I visited Kelp Sushi Joint for Happy Hour on a Saturday around 3:00. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they have happy hour every day. I had a strong craving for sushi, and this place satisfied it. During happy hour, you pay regular price for one snack and the second is $2. The Krab Rangoon had a nice sweetness to it, but lacked actual crab. The Gyoza was good, but I prefer the bulk bags from Costco. We also tried two specialty rolls, which were a great deal at $19.95 each. Both rolls, Eight Wonders and Scarlet Witch, were fresh and flavorful. The sushi was alright. The packaging for takeout was good. However, the bathroom was terrible. This restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood but has a lot of traffic for takeout orders, so most people probably don't stay to dine in. The condition of the bathroom was so bad that I regretted eating my food first. What made the experience even more disappointing was that I mentioned it to the cashier at the front of the store, she apologized, and I went to Starbucks only to find it closed.
