"We have dined at your restaurant before and it was very good. Unfortunately our Christmas Eve was bad. Not sure what happened in the kitchen or with the waitress but the whole night was a disaster. We waited at least 15 mins for the waitress to take our drink order, 15 mins to get our drinks and then we ordered. Another 15 for our soup(French onion) but it was luke warm. Finally our entrees came and they were all cold. So cold they were not eatable. Waitress offered to reheat but there was 5 of us and we were already there 1 1/2 hours. We paid 1/2 the bill which was probably too much. Very disappointed!"

We arrived a bit late after getting sidetracked on the beautiful cross-country trails at Garnet Hill, but it was no issue at all. The rustic atmosphere and delicious food at the Log House were just what we needed after a day of skiing.

This place is a hidden gem. Food was delicious and ambiance is quintessential Adirondacks. It was relatively busy when we dined over Columbus Day weekend and service was a bit slow but that tends to be the vibe in the north country. We’ll definitely return! View menu

We’ve been there many times over the past 35 years. This time the food was disappointing. The menu is not large so there is no excuse for not doing their 6or7 main entrees extremely well. We were planning to go there for a weekend this fall, now we will make other plans. Too bad, we loved the place before.

Food was pricey and was not worth it. I attended with three other people who all got different things and we were all disappointed. Waitress offered an extra topping for a pasta dish and didn’t mention that it was an extra $7 charge which seemed excessive given the portion and taste. Very disappointed with the overall experience.

a bit of a ride from the region gore mountain, but the food quality was very good. large rustic atmosphere, complete with a wood burning stove. While we had some irrgivings about the 20-minute drive, it turned out that it is very worth the effort. Some of us had awarded the 14 oz tomahawk port chop. steak special and heavy fish were also very good. View menu

It’s a bit of a drive from the Gore Mountain area, but the food quality is excellent. The rustic ambiance, complete with a crackling fireplace, really adds to the experience. Despite our initial hesitations about the 20-minute journey, it proved to be well worth it. Some of us ordered the 14 oz Tomahawk Pork Chop, which was outstanding. The steak special and swordfish were also very impressive.

We love the Log House and Garnet Hill in general. The ambiance is wonderful, the service is great (although a bit understaffed) and the menu has a good amount of options. This particular time, the entrees were a bit off: not quite hot, little to no seasoning and somewhat uninspired, which was a bit disappointing, especially considering the price. But the salad and the dessert were both excellent. We will be back regardless but I hope the Log House can keep up the quality at such a great destination.

"Charlie has worked with our family to make some really special dinners in our home over the past three years. We have hired him as a private chef for the last three years to cook between 2 and 4 dinners for a group of 10 adults. His dinner have always taken into account the various dietary restrictions of the guests as well as their preferences. He prepares truly elevated cuisine which will remind you of eating in the finest restaurants except in the comfort of your own home. Some of the standouts he has prepared for us in our vacation home in Lake Placid NY include: Gulf of Maine butter poached lobster risotto Pan seared McFarland Farms breast of pheasant topped with a wild mushroom, baby leek, baby spinach duxelle, sauvignon blanc pan jus, green onion polenta, fresh asparagus Large Gulf of Maine day boat dry scallops, pan seared and topped with a grapefruit honey bell orange beurre blanc, creamy parsnips, roasted Brussels sprouts with 20 year old aged balsamic drizzle Large gulf shrimp marinated in extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic herbs, crushed red pepper, grilled and tossed with a Mae Ploy glaze Pan seared Margret breast of duck served with a curry sweet potato heirloom carrot puree, topped with a whole grain mustard apple cider pan jus Charlie is without a doubt the best private chef working in the regions. We would know as we have hired all the others we could find before settling on just working with Charlie. It is one of the things our family looks forward to most every year. He is the best!"
