We always make a stop here on our way to Galveston. The food is excellent, the place is very clean, and the staff is wonderful. Just a heads up, they only accept cash.

This is a small town restaurant that serves both burgers and a full Mexican menu. Even though I ordered a burger, my meal came with chips and salsa, which were both very tasty. The burger was huge and was served with a nice side order of fries that arrived hot and crispy. The burger was juicy and well seasoned. The service was friendly as well. A local recommended the beef and cheese enchiladas, and they were spot on! The cheese was especially delightful. The dish arrived piping hot and wonderfully gooey—so good that I almost burned myself! They offer complimentary chips and salsa at the counter, and the salsa has just the right amount of kick, which I absolutely loved. If you're in town or just passing through, make sure to stop by this little gem. Just a heads up: they only accept cash or checks, so be prepared. Next time I visit, I’ll definitely save room for dessert, as the line tends to get long as noon approaches.

Quintessential Texas small town Cafe this place doesn't do anything wrong. Amazing burgers with great fries and the best tea plus the friendliest staff you'll ever meet. Parking lot was full and I was lucky to get a small table during peak lunch time. Modest prices for the culinary treasure you receive. Better salsa than most Mexican restaurants, while you wait. Neighboring tables boasted amazing looking chicken fried steaks on one side and a lot of gorgeous looking enchiladas on the other. Needless to say, I've gotta get myself back! Vegetarian options: They've some great sides Kid friendliness: Bring em!

While the chips and salsa served with the order were decent, the salsa was frozen, and I noticed an icy chunk in one of the servings. To make matters worse, there was no pie available. I had been looking forward to the delicious coconut pie with its flaky crust, but the waitress informed me that the person who made it is no longer there, and someone else will be trying to make it in the future—leaving me uncertain if it will still taste as good. I rated it 2 stars instead of 1 solely because the staff was genuinely friendly. I’m unsure if I’ll return, but if I do, I might stick with the chicken fried steak I had last time, which was actually quite good. View menu
