"This is not at all what I expected. It was quite different than a typical French restaurant. I found to be very informal, casual, eclectic and extremely satisfying. The staff was very down to earth and authentic. My girlfriend and I ordered the French onion soup, an appetizer of duck liver and two wonderful entrées consisting of Seabass and Gnocchi?s with seafood medley. I won?t even attempt their French spelling or pronunciation. Lol. It?s all good in my language of origin which is English. ???? you have to pardon the lighting. We sat indoors in the room had red colored lighting."

"Another outstanding night at Grunauer! The bar staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the beers and the history for each one. They’re extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions about some great beers! Then the food comes and it’s just delicious! We had the Friday special and Hungarian style goulash. It was absolutely amazing! Words can’t describe how good it tastes. Then our server Anthony, who was a great one and a lot of fun, recommended we go with the bread pudding instead of my usual apple strudel for dessert. I hate him now because I have 2 favorite desserts! The people and food at Grunauer keep us coming back! Go try it and I’m sure you’ll be coming back multiple times. The owners, who are super cool, have a great place and worthy of a visit!"

"What a fun venue! I'm always looking for restaurants with a good selection for my vegan friend and the Westside local fills that void. Although reservations are recommended we arrived Sunday for brunch without any and were seated in less than 10 minutes. Mat , at the front was very helpful and welcoming. Our waitress, Hannah was great! She was very friendly , knowledgeable and efficient. Even though the place was jumping (and a bit loud) she never acted or made us feel rushed quite the contrary she made us feel quite welcome like regulars. The food was fantastic! My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy, mushroom gravy with no meat. I had the country Benny and it was great! We lucked out with a parking space right by the door otherwise the street parking is very limited. Highly recommend. I am sure to return soon. Thank you for a pleasant experience."

"I absolutely adore this establishment. The cocktails are unique and expertly concocted. You won't find a more delicious pork chop in all of Kansas City, and the service is consistently excellent. While dining on a Saturday evening, there was a mistake with one of our orders due to a software error. However, the manager on duty went above and beyond to rectify the situation, more than making up for the delay. It's refreshing when mistakes are acknowledged and the service industry strives to exceed expectations. Bravo!"

"Nice and beautiful location. We were able to get a patio table without a reservation and no wait time. They have a good variety of appetizers, salads, seafood, poultry, beef dishes plus desserts and of course, drinks. This time I opted for a light meal and I had the seafood salad as my main. It was a great choice. The seafood tasted so fresh and light, but at the same time delicious. It had shrimps, octopus and squid, plus the greens and red peppers. It also had some potatoes. Husband and I shared calamari for appetizer and the tater tots, they were amazing as other reviews said. They have cheese inside and a crispy warm texture outside. We took the leftovers and even the next day were delicious. Husband had a roasted chicken that was very tasty. He loved it. We will definitely come back."
