After receiving an email confirming our reservations, we arrived at the restaurant only to find it closed. It was a wasted effort and quite frustrating.

Cafeteria style order. The staff is really helpful and willing to answer questions. Food is always delicious. The only drawback is that it seems as if the air conditioning never works I am not sure that it is when it is due to the ovens or bad insulation or bad ventilation View menu

The meal and everything else from our experience at Makana was fantastic!!! The food was expertly prepared with innovative seasonings and flavor combinations. This restaurant is truly unique in Honolulu and I love that the ingredients are so local and fresh. I already want to go back!!!

The name of the place says everything... If your search for a sandwich joint / bakery do not see further because this is it Bakery has it all. Your breakfast sandwiches are delicious and carefully made. You're always worth waiting. Burgers and lunch sandwiches are made fresh when ordering. The packaging of the sandwiches is fine. The restaurant was closed and failed to inform OpenTable or the guests with reservations about this issue. They seem ill-equipped to handle reservations, and it appears that the owners do not prioritize this aspect of their operation based on the current situation. I have attempted to make reservations multiple times, but none have been successful for various reasons. It’s frustrating trying to reach them, as they don’t respond to inquiries, and their voicemail box is always full. Even if it isn’t, don’t expect a call back. While the place may be great for reducing your dining options, I wouldn’t recommend planning a meal here, or you might end up going hungry.

UPDATE: Closes on 29 May 2021 The Owners are retiring..., I wish them good fortune and cheer. I will greatly miss This Is It. The BEST on Island. I will really miss Rossi thank you for always treating me like Ohana. Bam! A good bagel place in Honolulu. Best part they even serve bialys!!! I have been searching for a decent bakery made bagel and have found the place. Get there early!!! If you want your choice of bagels get there by 7:00 am otherwise, the pickings get slim as the day goes on. They staff is smart to do this to ensure quality control. Update The best around. And even better, they have strict controls to ensure customer safety. Best part of my day is stopping by here.

After some disappointing experiences with Bagelexploration, I was convinced that the best option I could have in Honolulu was to get a lot of Einstein Bros Bagels from Costco. I heard of This is It of my long-term Honolulu residents who also live in D.C, so my expectation was necessarily quite high. Their bagels come in irregular sweet plump shapes, relatively smaller than an average size.
