"We arrived early at 5 PM, and it was obvious they were eager to turn over tables. We were seated, had drinks and bread, mistakenly received another table's salads, ordered starters, a main course, and dessert—all within about 30 minutes. They even asked if they could clear our table while we still had our salads and appetizers so they could serve our main dishes. One of those dishes barely seemed warm. By that point, I was already frustrated, especially since their bland Caesar salad tasted like they had forgotten the dressing. The pizza was a letdown—bland, tasteless, and utterly forgettable. The braised pork tagliatelle resembled chilly, watery mushroom soup with noodles, although the pork itself was hot and flavorful. The $28 braised short rib lasagna (which should definitely be priced half that) was lackluster, dry, and devoid of any gooey cheese goodness typical of lasagna. It tasted as if it had been made the day before and reheated multiple times. To top it all off, there was a non-optional 2% "Kitchen Appreciation" fee hidden on the bill. Clearly, they didn't care that I didn't appreciate the kitchen. By the end of the evening, it felt more like a scam than a relaxing dinner experience. And yet, the place is always packed... so who knows?"

Ethan is the best server ever! Mussels, Sausage Pizza, and Arancini were amazing!

Yes on a normal day. No on Valentine's Day lol. Overall main course was a good, but the appetizers were terrible and so random. Loved the short rib and the broth for the seafood bowl was amazing.

I ordered carbonara. It was loaded with pepper, and I think garlic, not a very good carbonara at all. Any Italian restaurant should know it’s very little pepper in a carbonara. It’s a simple dish. Weak View menu

Had a reservation on valentines day and was informed I could not be more than 10 minutes late and had a maximum of 1hr 45 mins at the table. Despite being on time, we ended up waiting 30 minutes at the front for a table and it took another 2hrs 30 mins to get the three courses. The food was better than average but not worth the $300 bill and the 3 hours it took to eat dinner.

WOW!! Mida is a top notch dining establishment. The food and service are both phenomenal. Such a delicious menu and excellent servers. Both Mida East boston and Newton have been super enjoyable experiences! Valentine’s Day in particular was a memorable evening- the set menu was perfection and the servers went out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. You can tell they run a tight ship!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a date night, night out with the gals or pals, also a great place to take the family. Beautiful interior as well. 10/10!

I visited this restaurant for the second time with my boyfriend for a belated Valentine's Day date, and everything was wonderful once again. Unfortunately, the power went out about ten minutes after we arrived, but our waiter was incredibly kind and kept us updated on the situation. After a 30-minute wait due to the outage, the lights came back on, and we were able to place our orders and enjoy the rest of our evening. A big thank you to all the staff and chefs who stayed open a bit later to complete our service. We truly appreciate it and will definitely return! View menu

The service was lackluster, coming from someone who seemed disinterested in their job. The food also failed to impress and wasn't a redeeming factor. The noise level was almost unbearable due to poor acoustics and became particularly intolerable when loud bass music was turned on. On a positive note, our reservation was honored, and both the greeter and hostess were very friendly. Our food was delivered quickly by various servers, all of whom were pleasant. Unfortunately, our main server struggled to connect with customers. Overall, the restaurant has a nice ambiance but suffers from poor acoustics, inconsistent service, and dishes that varied from excellent to just average.

I visited the MIDA-Newton restaurant location on Saturday, February 17th with my significant other as a means to celebrate his birthday (Feb 15th). I had the Short Rib Lasagna and my significant other had the Roasted Chicken with Risotto. The food was incredibly delicious, the waitstaff were very pleasant, and kind and the desserts were amazing! While I know my partner doesn 't like to celebrate his bday, I decided to 'bust his chops ' and request the waitstaff bring his dessert and sing Happy Birthday to him . To my surprise, my significant other got down on one knee and proposed to me at the restaurant in front of everyone. I didn 't know that MIDA-Newton would partake in my (now fiancé 's...

"I haven't been here in several years and this place has changed the menu since then. They used to serve crepes, but it seems like that is no longer on the menu. I miss the crepes they used to serve, but this place still seems like an excellent local coffee shop with sandwiches.Service: I was greeted promptly as soon as I walked in even though the worker was busy making a drink. They take your name when you order at the counter in the middle of the cafe, and they call out your name when your individual items are ready to pick up from the counter. They do not serve dine-in orders within 30 minutes of closing. There are tables on either end of the cafe, but not much, so don't expect a seat during peak times.Coffee: Served as is, the hot latte was foamy and velvety without any bitterness. Even though my order was to go, I was surprised to still see latte art when I took the lid off.Food: I ordered the Otom sandwich, which includes egg, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato spicy aioli, on your choice of bread. I chose to have on an everything bagel, which had a perfectly substantial amount of chewiness. The egg was overcooked and dry, but the rest of the ingredients, like the tomato and the aioli, covered up the dryness. The spicy aioli is mild but does add a nice small kick to the flavors. It is a fairly greasy and messy sandwich thanks to the bacon and aioli, so be sure to have a couple of napkins on hand. Overall, it was delicious."
