"We have been to Mio Nonno several times, and the food and service are always excellent. this particular time we had trouble checking in. We made reservations for 6:30 PM, requesting patio seating. When we got there, there were only two tables left on the patio. The hostess said it was going to be a 30 to 45 minute wait. I was surprised and confused because we had reservations. She said that there was no guarantee for patio seating when you make a reservation, so we would be put on a wait list. I said OK. After about 10 minutes, I still noticed an open table outside and there was no one else waiting but us. I asked the hostess why we couldn’t have that table. She said it was because there were other people on the waitlist and it’s first come first serve. I said we’re here first, so can we have the table? She said well, no, because there was going to be a group coming and they were going to need to put tables together. So we waited about 35 minutes when she came to take us to the table. She took us to that exact table we had asked for. Now she says that all those people had decided not to come so we could have the table. Just really odd and unorganized. I think it would help if the restaurant would have specific reservations for the patio as well, and give the hostess some help while it’s so busy. They definitely need some management organizing things."

I have always had excellent food at Mia Nonno's in Flower Mound. Service is usually very good as well. Can be a bit loud inside, but I really enjoy sitting out on the patio.

Outside dining was excellent. Food was tremendous. Music from the grassy area beside the patio was overly loud. Server was having a tough night and didn't do a very good job. He was very friendly, but not particularly attentive. View menu

Friday nights during the Lakeside Concert Series is the best way to enjoy our experience. My boyfriend and I sat on the patio, shared a bottle of wine over bruschetta and watched the music performance and it was a lot of fun. Not to mention the people watching was perfection. Highly recommend!

Bad service takes away from good food. We eat at Mio Nonno often. Each time, the service just seems to get worse. We ate there at 7:30 on a Sunday and they were not super busy. After we were seated we sat for a long time with no acknowledgment that we were there, no water, no silverware, etc. We finally had to flag the hostess to ask for a waiter (even though we could see a group of wait staff gathered in front of the kitchen). This is just an example of the overall service. And because we’ve experienced this several time, I don’t think it was just this individual waiter. The food is really good and why we keep going, but always end up feeling frustrated- as the food is not inexpensive.
