"After eating here for most of my life I can't say anything other than high respect and admiration for the chefs that have worked here since day one. being able to make quality authentic Mexican food damn near perfect every single time I order is something to be highly commended. the gordita always being able to fit that soft, crunchy, medium. The selection of meat, and occasional change of pace during lent, where they try out more fish based dishes it's safe to say that these chef know makes good food. That being the ingredients that make that food and cooking with the attitude of cooking for a friend or family member. Having known them for almost all my life it's safe to say they truly love what they do and that's what makes a place authentic. More than the dishes, more than the people that make the dishes, it's the soul that they have. I recommend a majority of the menu as I have not tried the rest of the menu."

Best mexican food in chicago, hands down. From the tacos, to the nachos, to the burritos. I was going multiple times a week because it was so good ! Had to slow it down! Food always fresh and authentic ! I always take my friends there who visit from out of town!

I'm visiting Chicago for the weekend and my friend recommended her favorite taco spot. The tacos were delicious. Steak, chicken, chorizo and ground beef tacos all had so much flavor and the service was fast. The food was hot and the tacos come with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, hot sauce and cheese. I would have wanted more cheese but the tacos were still good.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
