"Just a sliver of a spot for dinner. Competent wait staff in a cozy, intimate setting. I was happy to find an Indian food restaurant close to my hotel. Menu had many, customary, both veg and non-veg items. Dishes were authentic, moderately priced, and served promptly. Mango Lassi was slightly sweet, smooth, and well made. Garlic Nan was the perfect traditional accompanimentto our Chicken Tikka and Lamb Vindaloo. Tikka gravy was a might sweeter than I usually experience, like some bit of excess sugaradded perhaps, and Lamb Vindaloo was with some rather tough, fatty, and stringy ?lamb? in a gravy watery with raw gingerslices. Not altogether unpalatable as spices were in balance, but also not the best to be had. I would probably return toinvestigate more, and considering the authenticity of the cuisine, the pleasant ambience, the good service, and amenablepricing."

Some of the best Indian food I have had! Wonderful service and a great small place to go before a theater trip.

Authentic. Tasty. Affordable. Need I say more. Great little hidden restaurant somewhat near time square. The Tiki Masala gave us just the right amount of fuel to continue sight seeing. Definitely check them out.Sincerely Florida Man.

Best food and such friendly service! We have been coming here for years and the food is always good. You can have it no spice or extra spice and they’re always good at recommending new foods to try or explaining anything on the menu.

Had dinner tonight. Loved the food and the service. We had Dal Mughlai and Malai Kofta. Both were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal. People who have posted before us to mention this as a gem near Times Square are spot on. View menu

I really enjoyed the food here. The Ginger Chicken Kabob is an absolute must-try! The Tandoori Salmon was fantastic, and I’ll definitely order it again next time. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I'm so glad I discovered this place!

One of the best North Indian food! More importantly great customer service! We were a party of 8 and they made special accommodations/ tables on a busy night to seat us. One of owners herself talked us through the menu and made recommendations. Great atmosphere and food, a must eat folks!!

Great Indian restaurant in the NYC downtown. We ordered ginger chicken kebab, panner tikka , Chana masala, mint paratha, aloo paratha and mix veg subzi. All of them tasted really good and had an authentic Indian taste of it. The staffs were friendly and service was great. The place is small but has great food! Highly recommend ! View menu

Additionally, I called in my order, but when I arrived 20 minutes later, they had completely forgotten about it. I had to wait an extra 15 minutes for them to prepare it. Although they offered a free dessert as compensation, the experience still felt extremely unprofessional. They really need to value their customers' time. In short, I regret spending $30 here and will not be returning.

My colleagues and I had dinner here shortly after it opened. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive and so nice. It is small, friendly and makes you feel so welcome. I will plan to eat there each time I am in New York. I am writing this when all of NYC is locked down. My heart and hope goes out to the staff of this lovely spot. Stay safe!! Hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
