"The food here is not only delicious, but the hospitality from the staff and chef is incredibly sincere. Even the other diners, who were complete strangers, exchanged warm wishes for a "great day" and encouraged each other to "enjoy yourself." The tables are closely arranged, and patrons readily shared their favorite dishes while we tried to narrow down our own choices. You can really feel the love that’s put into the small kitchen; it shines through in every dish they serve. If you’re fortunate, MacArthur might be your server—his infectious joy will definitely enhance your experience. He even convinced us to try the Kool Aid! Unable to choose between the Red and Purple flavors, we decided to go for the Mix."

"I was visiting town and my family members were heading back home. We decided to meet up with some other relatives for a meal at Chic-fil-A. As we approached the restaurant, the staff warmly welcomed us in. It felt like we were being treated like royalty with their excellent greeting. The service was top-notch and the food was delicious. I have visited Chic-fil-A many times over the years, but this experience was truly exceptional. The drive-through lines were busy but they moved quickly and efficiently, with no long waits. It was satisfying to see them operate so smoothly. Thank you, we will definitely be back!"

"We had an amazing experience at this restaurant with excellent BBQ and sides. We ordered the 4 meat plate with sides and were impressed with the seasoning and cooking of the meat. The pulled chicken was tender and not dried out, which can often happen when grilled. The hash was also very tasty and the cornbread cooked to perfection. The blueberry BBQ sauce was a standout for us and we loved it so much that we bought a bottle to take home. My husband mentioned they also sell a peach sauce. Overall, we highly recommend this place for a delicious meal that will please your taste buds. We hope you enjoy your experience as much as we did."

"Fair warning, this will be a lengthy message, but it’s only because Hawaiian Style BBQ has played such a significant role in my time in Augusta. When I first relocated to Augusta from Atlanta, my main aim was to complete the Respiratory Therapy program and head back to Atlanta. I was unfamiliar with the area, so I decided to stop by Hawaiian Style BBQ to try the garlic chicken plate. I not only LOVED the food, but the atmosphere made a lasting impression on me. I eventually applied for a server position and was overjoyed when I got the job. A year later, I can genuinely say that working here has been one of the best experiences of my life. When my program ended, I didn’t want to leave—not just because of the food or the job itself, but because of the amazing people I worked with. They’ve become like family to me. From day one, I felt their constant kindness and support, both professionally and personally. No matter how busy my schedule was with school and clinicals, I always looked forward to coming to work (I even came in on my days off to study). The team, including the managers, fostered such a positive environment that it became my sanctuary during a busy and challenging time. I want to especially thank Matt, the general manager, for hiring me and for always inspiring me to do my best. Matt, you lead with determination and heart, and Hawaiian Style BBQ wouldn’t be the same without you. You’ve kept the team united and motivated, and I’ve embraced the philosophy of “Do whatever it takes” and giving my all without reservation. There are so many wonderful people at this job who have touched my heart that I’d end up naming everyone if I tried. (They know who they are). Hawaiian Style BBQ has truly been the best job I’ve ever had—and I’ve had quite a few! This team will always be my ohana, my family. Even when I thought my time in Augusta was concluded, this job and the people here will always give me a reason to return. "While a bit on the expensive side, the unlimited kimchi that comes with every meal is a nice touch. The cucumber kimchi is a great starting point, resembling a spicy pickle. The cabbage and bean sprout kimchi are also popular choices. The LA Kalbi is a delicious, marinated piece of meat served on the bone, and the sautéed onions on the skillet beneath add a lovely sweetness. If you enjoy chewy textures, the rice cake soup or appetizer is a fantastic option. My girlfriend particularly loves the Dolsot Bibim Bap, which features rice with pickled vegetables and thin slices of beef served in a hot stone bowl. The waitstaff, who can sometimes be mistaken for my aunts, are friendly and will add the sweet and spicy sauce for you if you look a bit lost or like you might burn yourself. Once, we visited on New Year's Eve dressed in formal attire, and they graciously brought us red aprons from the kitchen to wear. The staff are truly wonderful. Do keep in mind that it might take a while to be seated, so plan for about an hour and a half to two hours for your meal. Enjoy some soju and barley tea while you're at it."
