"Traditional style Japanese sushi house w/ a large menu of fish and other non sushi items as well. We tried a lot of things, and liked almost all of them. I will just point out the things we didn't like first: 1). The pork katsu was a bit dry, and 2). the wagyu nigiri which was pretty pricey was overcooked quite a bit, and 3). It was very hard to get our servers attention. As we tried so many dishes I'll just describe my favorites. All of the fish was fresh and good, especially the saba which was thick meaty and anago which was perfectly broiled and lightly sauced. They also have several dishes you don't see too often at sushi restaurants such as kurodai. The chicken karaage breading was very good, but strangely not the oyster karaage so much. The ebi I was a bit disappointed by as it looked so fresh and plump in the display case but when it came out it just looked and tasted like at every other place, not sure if he used different one or what. The tempura batter was also phenomenal too so light and crunchy. The chawanmushi was also tasty and interesting like a savory little egg custard cup w/ cooked seafood or mushrooms. Dessert was also very tasty sweet red bean ice cream and a little strawberry cream puff cake thing. A light and refreshing end to a monstrous feast. Btw, they don't really do rolls here as it's more traditional Japanese if that's what your looking for. I also really like the clean wood decor, and they have tatami rooms for larger parties as well."

I will definitely return! While I wasn't a fan of the fatty tuna, the other dishes we chose were absolutely delicious! I had the eel, which I really enjoyed.

The chicken in the bento box I ordered for takeout was quite dry, which was disappointing. I would recommend to the chef: if you're going to use chicken breast instead of thigh meat in your bento box, please consider brining it first to ensure it's juicy and tender rather than dry.

Made reservations for lunch a must since it gets crowded quickly). and parked in the adjacent structure 2hrs validation from restaurant). Was craving high quality sushi and Murata delivered! The sake was outstanding. Have been here several times. Excellent restaurant all the way around. View menu

The food was pretty good, the service was very nice, and the ambiance was calm. It is best if you get a reservation beforehand. We sat at the bar, it was nice. The reason I rated it 4/5 stars is because other sushi spots I have been to focus on presentation too, and these plates weren't as nicely presented, but they tasted good. It is pricey too. Overall, I enjoyed it

This is among the best dining experiences I’ve ever had, if not the absolute best. It's comparable to Sushi Ota in San Diego. If you appreciate traditional Japanese cuisine, this is the place to go—no overpowering sauces here. I walked in to find every table and bar seat reserved, but they graciously found a spot for me. The service was outstanding. I can’t wait to return with my wife! Thank you!

While the prices might not be the lowest, as the Portland couple next to me mentioned while celebrating a birthday, I found it much cheaper compared to similar quality sushi in my hometown. Plus, the quality definitely justified the price. Lastly, the wait staff was very attentive. The restaurant isn’t large, so I would recommend making a reservation, but I was fortunate to secure a seat as a walk-in. View menu

The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious! I ordered the chawanmushi, which was excellent. We chose our meals from a special dinner selection, and each came with a salad, miso soup, rice, and some tsukemonos. My boyfriend opted for the combination entree featuring tonkatsu and sushi. The tonkatsu portion was generous, but it tasted similar to others I've had. The sushi included a diverse selection of nigiri and a tekka maki (tuna roll). I went for the single entree with sashimi, and it was among the best I've ever had outside of Japan! The sashimi portions were thick, and all the fish tasted incredibly f...

There are no half stars, so I feel odd about the 4. It was better than 4 but not a 5. A traditional Japanese restaurant on the ground floor of an office building. The warm wood furnishings blended nicely with all the glass frontage. Counter service for sushi, as well as small private dining rooms that I definitely want to check out on another visit. Murata's service, ambience and *most* of the food we tried were stellar. Not quite 5 star for us entirely because of the rice served along with our meals. I ordered unaju, served in a 3 tiered set of dishes with a light salad in one, 3 good sized slices of unagi in another, and the driest rice ever served at a decent Japanese restaurant in the th...

"Boxcar Pizza does creative all vegan pizza done Detroit style. I am from NY and had plenty of pizza there in the day before I was vegan. Pizza and NY are synonymous. I would love to check out Screamer's Pizza in NY next time I am there.I have only had Detroit Pizza one other time and happened to be vegan. It was alright when I had it then. I have been to Detroit where the talented rapper Eminem is from. Detroit is where the pinball like running back legend Detroit Lion Barry Sanders played. Detroit is where I was in awe when I saw the Diego Rivera murals there. Detroit isn't known for it's pizza yet lately Detroit pizza seems to be getting popular.Detroit Pizza is like a cross between Sicilian and Chicago deep dish yet comes in a square with four slices. Boxcar Pizza was named best vegan pizza this past year in Veg News magazine so had great expectations coming here. Boxcar Pizza delivered! I went with the Viktor Vaughn pizza. The pizza came with mozzarella, cheddar, kale, red onions, ricotta, mama lil's peppers, and pesto. I got it with a side of red sauce for dipping which I recommend. The pizza was very tasty. Plenty of flavor. It was a bit rich and filling for plenty of vegan cheese was used. Perhaps a touch less vegan cheese and other pizza pies with more veggies would be nice. I like that this pizza had plenty of veggies on it. I just got this and was able to eat it all. Each pizza serves one to two depending on your appetite. If you come with a friend or spouse might be good to split one and order a Kale Caesar salad to share.Viktor Vaughn is the real name of Dr. Doom who happens to be the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Comics. Viktor Vaughn is also a British rapper. There are many different kinds of pizza here and am so happy that a vegan pizza place delivers tasty vegan pizza. I hope they open up branches in other cities.Recommended!"
