"MILITARY DISCOUNT From outside it looks like your average bakery! Don't let looks deceive you! Go in, smell the smells, order tons because you will be disappointed in yourself if you don't. I visited mid afternoon 3 days in a row and I missed outon several of their Specialties because they are that Popular with the locals and people visiting from out of town. Thedoughnut Breakfast sandwich was phenomenal. The oldest recipe was the bear claw. You will not be disappointed!"

Nice, quaint little place. Tons of freshly baked breads sweetness. Friendly staff. First time here, I brought back fresh baked bread and jars of homemade fruit nut spread.

All I wanted for my birthday this year was some delicious pastries from der wunderbar Naegelin's German Bakery and did you know that Naegelin’s is “THE OLDEST BAKERY IN TEXAS, SINCE 1868?” Well, it is(! and here we are, and boy am I excited ICH BIN PHANTASTISCH!

Pretty cool that this bakery has been here since 1868. It's true the apple danish is among the best I've ever had, you gotta get one. The other things we got were just ok. Worth going, even if you don't get anything. Plenty of employees working because itgets busy. View menu

A great German style bakery in the historic downtown area of New Braunfels. I went for the strudel but everything was great! The staff was helpful and friendly. I was there on a Saturday morning and the line at the counter seemed to last all morning butmoved quickly

I was excited to visit this bakery as I am a huge fan of German style bakeries! Definitely did not disappoint. Bring your sweet tooth because the variety will certainly amaze you! lol I chose a small variety of pastries and cookies to try. Staff was nice and patient while customers, including myself, took time to carefully choose snacks!

This is an icon because it has been around for a long time. The pastry were good, had a cream cheese pocket and peach strudel. I also got a bag of sand tarts. The cookies were okay, but not the best or fresh. The service could be trained a little bitbetter. It seemed like a young person just there for a paycheck. The young lady dropped several pastries when she was pullingthe trays. View menu

How could we resist stopping at the oldest bakery in Texas? We made a stop here around 9:30 this morning and were delighted with the variety of options available at reasonable prices. While we initially planned to buy just one treat each, we ended up purchasing quite a bit more for family and friends. Don’t miss out on their Fried Apple Pie ($1.75) and the Big Sticky Roll ($2.85) – they’re definitely worth it!

Service was wonderful the young girl working was very welcoming and very friendly and happy to answer questions and offer suggestions. The apple turnover was delicious. We were disappointed with the apple strudel far too sweet and strange tasting. The cinnamon stick and the other items we got were also delicious. If we are back in the area we would go for sure. Would love to see what they have available earlier in the day as well.

"It pains me to leave this review, but here we go. My wife and I have had some great meals at Myron's over the years. The meal we had Thursday May 2nd, 2024 was, not so good. First off, our waitress, Amanda was a real pro. Very professional, a pleasure. None of the following was her fault. My remoulade shrimp cocktail, room temperature, mushy shrimp, albeit large, but soaked in enough remoulade sauce and bean sprouts to feed the Russian army. Not particularly appetizing. As for the steaks. My wife had the 12 Oz filet, rare. It was rare, but not particularly tasty. Granted tenderloin is the lest flavorful part of the cow, but the seasoning and searing was, well, non-existent. It was tender. That's the best I can say. As for my steak, the 45-day dry aged NY strip, cooked rare. It was rare. At lest they got that right. As for the steak it was as tough as a boot. Absolutely no marble. And a fair amount of gristle. The steak looked as though it had been baked in a 350º oven, beige colored, and absolutely no searing or maillard effect whatsoever. Totally tasteless. Totally unacceptable for a supposed dry aged prime I assume.Granted, they never said it was prime) $75 steak. Probably one of the worst steaks I have ever had in a fine restaurant. I left half of the steak and took it home for the next day. When I took it out of the carton it had that same sick beige look and when I sliced it, no marbling whatsoever. Tough and tasteless. And finally the stuffed tomatoes. Look at their website, the stuffed tomatoes look like what Julia Child would prepare. Well seasoned bread crumb stuffed and seared tomatoes. These were stuffed with gobs of bleu cheese. And a tiny sprinkling of tasteless bread crumbs. NOT what's pictured on the website. The bleu cheese was overpowering to say the least. Took one bite, took them home and tossed them in the trash. I like bleu cheese, but enough is enough. We will be back. Probably order escargot and seared scallops. That's what I have had before. Always great. Fingers crossed."
