"Before visiting Napper Tandy’s in Bay Shore, forget all assumptions you may have about Irish Pubs. My wife and I frequent Bay Shore for meals, and although we had passed by Napper Tandy’s many times, we never thought to go in, assuming it was just a loud and rowdy dive bar. How wrong we were! On our visit tonight (3/8/23), we sat at a table in a cozy corner opposite the bar. Our server, Ryan, who also tended the bar, greeted us warmly. We chatted about dining options in Bay Shore and other restaurants we had tried. After swiftly bringing our drinks, Ryan gave us time to peruse the menu (while offering some helpful suggestions). When he returned to take our orders, he assisted us in selecting from the specials menu. My wife opted for the chicken lettuce wraps, recommended by Ryan, while I started with the delicious potato leek soup before enjoying the Irish Bacon and Cabbage - leaner and more flavorful than the Corned Beef I had considered. Our food arrived promptly, was expertly prepared, and all of our choices were hot, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. Ryan checked on us several times throughout the meal but was never intrusive - always engaging and friendly. As regular diners (once or twice a week), we can confidently say that Napper Tandy’s in Bay Shore will definitely be a place we will return to soon. A big thank you to Ryan and the entire team at Napper Tandy’s for welcoming us and providing such an exceptional dining experience."

The place is dirty. Also tends to get violent at night. I live nearby and have seen too many young people (clearly badly beaten) taken away in ambulancesFood: 1/5

Napper Tandy's is a great place to hold a party. We had our high school reunion there. The owner was fantastic, answered our questions, made sure we had an area for our group and came out a few times, as well as the staff to check on us to make sure things were going well. I would highly recommend this place for any event. Thank you, Napper Tandy's, for a great time.

The staff at this restaurant are exceptional individuals who work incredibly hard and show great care, making them a valuable asset to the establishment. While the food at this restaurant is mostly delicious, there are a few items that could use some improvement, such as the grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich has a strange taste that suggests the use of low-quality ingredients, like stale butter or a dirty grill. In order to make a truly great grilled cheese, it is important to use flavorful cheese, fresh bread with a good texture, and avoid too much crust. The white bread being used lacks flavor and would benefit from being replaced with a more interesting option like Dave's Killer Bread...

"My husband and I have been coming here since it opened over 6 years ago, it was one of my favorites as I love the Porcini Mushroom sauce with Filet Mignon and my husband loved the skirt steak. $27 for me $47 for him. I guess not so bad except it used to come in a pasta bowl with slices of meat and now mine comes in a salad bowl with the meat cut into small tiny pieces and mixed into the pasta so you are unaware that you only received 2.5 slices of filet and my husbands steak was so small, a small scoop of mashed potatoes completely covered in the onion string "garnish "of which he dusted off. Needless to say he went home and had a sandwich. 8 inches long by 2 inches to 1 inch at best at the tail less than 1/2 inch thick. The best part!!!! The runner brings our meals and I don 't eat grated cheese. Ever!!!! But my dish is covered in it. I was in shock. I said I don 't eat cheese he said not at all? Really!! He takes it back and now my husband has his plate and we must wait again. He won 't touch his because I don 't have mine. Needless to say when mine arrived his was ice cold. Waiter said he would find the manager... when I asked the waiter what had happened to the portion size , he said you can talk to him about both issues. He never came to the table. Not about the screw up with my food or the downgrade in the portion size of everything. The disrespect, not even to come see if we were ok! They just lost customers. We won 't be back. Money for most is scarce these days and I won 't waste it on that. They are not the only place around, as Islip and the neighborhoods around them have plenty of others to choose from."
