"We were visiting Effingham and were recommended this place. We absolutely loved it! I ordered the firehouse burger, waffles, and banana cake, while my friend had roasted chicken, potatoes, green beans, and apple cake. Everything was delicious! The staff were lovely, the service was excellent, and the food was fantastic! We live about two hours away, but we would definitely come back just to eat here!"

Went there yesterday with my friends, my second time there. Waitress was nice and food was delicious. Had the ham steak with baked potato and salad bar. Best ham steak I have ever had!

Amazing food, fabulous price. I was so excited about the salad buffet which was wonderful!!! You can make a salad—but that’s not all!! In addition, you can have soup, male loaded nachos and more!! Great place, nice people.

My mother worked here years ago, initially helping with the salad bar and eventually becoming a waitress in the coffee shop. I’ve been coming here with family, friends, and others for many years, and I’ve never had a bad meal. I really enjoy their grilled cheeseburger, and my girlfriend and I like to visit the salad bar from time to time.

As always, the Makkaroni salad is outstanding! I ordered the Swiss steak, while my friends had chicken fried steak and a grilled chicken breast. The food was absolutely fantastic! The salad bar was incredibly fresh and excellent as well! I love it here! It's hands down the best 5-star restaurant within 100 miles. I highly recommend everyone visit Niemergs!
