"very disappointed. oliv pit is by no means a "fine culinary experience", in ambiente, eating or otherwise. tables are very close together, with other males who knock each time in their chair. we were placed at a table near the refrigerator, where the wee are kept, so every time a server needs to pour a glass wee, they came very close to our table. the food was not well prepared (salmon was undercooked and had to be sent back, potatoes were cooked 1/2). although some meal times come with 2 ' sides, ' their version of a side Greek salat was literally 3 pieces salat, 1 tomaten and nothing else. when we asked if this was the 'side 'Greek-Salat, they brought another small bowl of a traditional Greek salate, but only for one of us, although we both ordered one. we wanted to try this restaurant, but do not go back. extremely disappointed that we made the mistake of trying this place for our jubilee...oh, and also no recognition of our jubilee, although we noticed it on our open table reservation. Why do they ask us if we are celebrating something special if they do not want to at least confirm it."

Table reserved for 7.45pm. We arrived on time. Initially told 10 minutes then it became apparent this was not going to occur. At 8.15 we left. Staff were arguing. Not good. View menu

Honestly, my husband and I were so disappointed with our dinner last night. It took forever to get our food but once it arrived it wasn’t even delicious. We came here about a year ago and we loved our dinner. I am not sure what went wrong. It wasn’t even crowded so I’m not sure why our food took so long. At this point, I hope that they can get this restaurant back on track. Really disappointed:

Took parents for Valentines Day. Used to be one of our favorite places. Evidently new ownership and chef since Christmas. Awful service- 2 servers working the place, took over an hour to get food which was cold, and platters didn’t have all the food. Had to speak to chef/ owner who didn’t believe me and had to come out to Tavel to show her how she threw the food on the plate and how she didn’t provide what was on the menu. Server took $48 off bill. Now simply THE PIT

I thought the food was pretty good although I just got a greek salad with a chicken skewer and spinach pie. I really went for the shrimp in garlic-oil... and they were out! So quite disappointed that I would have to call next time if I went. Also, the lady young waitress was not very pleasant. It was like it was the last place she wanted to be. the food took a VERY long time to get and other tables were annoyed too. It was NOT busy either. The food was not at all acceptable. The Greek salad had no taste. We asked for more dressing but the dressing had no taste. The chicken was way overcooked. The cooked shrimp was not peeled and was served with the legs, etc. Totally not acceptable and just a lazy chef. The table next to us complained about the same thing with the shrimp and actually sent theirs back. The shrimp was like rubber and had no taste. Apparently we learned that there are new owners and they really don't care about the customers. Also they now charge for pita bread. Ridiculous at a Greek restaurant. Will not go back.

This was our 3rd time back. In the past we overlooked the service because we enjoyed the food. Saturday we arrived on time for our reservation and was told to take any table we wanted. Service was all downhill from there. Wine took 20 minutes to arrive after asking for it several times. When I ordered I specifically asked for the salad first followed by the entree. Not an unusual request but I knew from past experience. Salad arrived and then 2 minutes later mains arrived which I refused to accept despite some nonsense back talk from the older male waiter. The service staff is awful. I don’t want to be served by a 16 year old that doesn’t know what he is doing or a waiter that doesn’t care....
