"If the waitress Brooke is there, please do yourself a favor and run in the opposite direction. I understand that everyone has things that they might be going through but this entire restaurant business is all about hospitality. In August we had a party of 8 and not only did it take over 30 minutes to order drinks and an additional 20 for food, but some meals were missing whole sections like potatoes (at brunch) for example. We had to remind her twice to please get them, and by the time it came for my partner our meal was done. At that point, we had some but didn 't want the rest and she literally yells saying you 're gonna take this food home! while clapping at us less than 2 feet away. We made the manager aware and I 've waited months before posting this review to give them a chance. Really unfortunate when you live in the neighborhood and tip the servers (including Brooke) upwards of 25% regularly in an effort to support in this economy. I wanted to come back but why would I pay to be treated in such a manner. Not cool AT ALL!"

Food was really good, but the service was slow. The staff are really kind though! Good food, cute atmosphere. I'd definitely go back overall

Best tender grilled fish I’ve had!My son loved the mules frites and the fried chicken was approved by the southern American.Only thing was the whipped potatoes where a little to dry for my taste.

I recently went to the Black x Crafty tasting event with Brown Girl’s Brew and Cantina Cantina. Both beers were amazing! Have you ever had Banana Pudding Hefeweizen Beer? It's delicious! The food was also top-notch, 5/5. View menu

I’ve eaten here a few times. Went again a week ago, and made it just before their kitchen was closing. I got salad and fries, but their kale salad isn’t the same as the Peaches on Lewis’ kale salad. Fries were ok. Bartender was nice.Food: 4/5

This restaurant serves the best fried chicken in New York City! The ambiance was lovely and the service staff were very friendly. While we weren't big fans of the Mac N Cheese or the cornbread, the chicken and fish were outstanding. Overall, we would rate the food a 4 out of 5.

Winter, our waitress is real. She made our experience the very best! The family and I can’t stop talking about how funny she is. Atmosphere was enjoyable. We visited for brunch and were not disappointed. Anyone thinking about visiting, think no longer. Ask for Winter as your waitress. She’s the best. View menu

Food is good however portions are far too small. Chicken and toast is a great idea but you only get 2 pieces of chicken and 1 piece of french toast for $18. Catfish is served small with large portion of grits and no salad.Enjoyed the food and service but portion size needs to increase to match prices.

I visited here for brunch after church one Sunday. There wasn 't a wait which was great and we were welcomed by a very pleasant server. The food was just ok for me. I got the blackened Catfish and grits...the Catfish was well seasoned and tasted delicious but the cheesy Grits were loose/watery with not much flavor. Didn 't taste like there was much cheese in it. The hit at the table was the chicken and toast which was loved by the kids. The fish and Grits and shrimp and Grits is a pass for me. I don 't think I would order it again but definitely visit again to try to chicken and toast. I also had the ginger lemonade which I liked as well.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
