"The Salad Place and Rotisserie- San Francisco, Inner Mission District The mission while in Inner Mission. Late snack. Grab and go situation. Keeping it simple, no trying to fork down an elaborate salad or party tray in the car. It's drive and dine, baby.First time at this highly rated and highly reviewed deli in San Francisco. Be aware that parking can be a challenge! The corner lot is colorful and clean and things inside looked well organized and well stocked. Lots of service pans of ready to eat cold items. I ordered a ham and cheese on a sandwich roll. (Torpedo)Again, the ingredients are pretty basic in this one. Thin slices of deli ham and orange American cheese slices, fresh onions, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. The produce was seriously remarkably fresh! The pickles were a nice balancing act between the produce and the meat and cheese. The torpedo roll was very fresh and fluffy with a nice outer crust. The workers putting things together were super nice. Very efficient, and welcoming too. It's easy to see why the place is so highly rated! And another thing- the price was super great! Come try it for yourself! I'll go back to try a salad!"

"Best BBQ I’ve had in the city, sweet store inside with cool snacks, desserts I got fresh made banana pudding), and bevs too. Really nice guys working there as well. Highly recommend getting a bbq plate they usually do three meats a day, as all good BBQs do they will run out of brisket eventually so try to get there earlier than later), great sides too like Mac and cheese, potato salads, etc."

"I had been eagerly anticipating this meal for years and finally had the chance to dine here with my family during a special occasion a few days ago. Unfortunately, it fell a bit short of my expectations. While the menu looked delicious, the flavors didn't quite impress us given the price point. Many dishes seemed one-note or unbalanced. It wasn't bad, but it didn't quite live up to the price or the charming ambiance. Surprisingly, our favorite dishes were the green salad, bread, and oysters, which weren't the highlights we were hoping for. The ice cream had a grainy and watery texture, and although everything looked and sounded good, it just didn't hit the mark."

"The food here was fantastic; everything was delicious. We also ordered the Pezza de Angioni a sa Saba (Seared Lamb Tenderloin Tagliata Sardinian Saba), and one of the specials for the day, which was a pasta with a tomato-based beef and mushroom sauce. Our plates were clean. The bread for the table was perfect for picking up any leftover sauce. We got there right as it opened, and the restaurant filled up as the time went by; the volume in the place slowly increased as we dined there. The service was decent, and our water glasses were filled on a consistent basis. I'm not sure if they added specials for the day as the night went on, but other tables seemed to be told about more than the two specials that we heard when we arrived. I would definitely return at least once more if I am back in the city, as I would like to try the Pasta Cruzza cun Arrizonis (Artisanal Fusilli Sea Urchin Tomato Cured Tuna)."

"I 'll begin this review by saying that I had been looking forward to, and tried to find an occasion to visit Heirloom Cafe for a very long time. I 've lived in San Francisco now for a year and have had dozens of dining recommendations, but I found this one on my own and was excited to visit a local gem in my neighborhood of the Mission. When one of my hometown friends visited, I wanted to bring her, and my local friend in SF for a ladies ' dinner on a Saturday night. The food delicious, presentable, a great portion. We had the fettucine and salmon and both were divine. The wine selection abundant, knowledgeable, perfectly dry white and rosé to our taste preferences. The ambiance candlelit, dim, great for close colleagues, friends, or a date. What completely turned us off however, was one of the servers. 1. She seemed to be under the influence. Her words were slurred, and she approached our table in jerky movements. 2. Our third guest arrived a bit after us, and about a minute after sitting down, the server came to our table and said What 's the gameplan without asking to see if she had a chance to review the menu and decide 3. She accidentally knocked over the entire water decanter onto my friend 's seating area, lap, and jacket. she didn 't apologize but instead said it can be refreshing . she continued to wipe it while not noticing that she was carrying 2 more decanters in her arm that continued to pour out luckily a few other servers came to dry up the area 4. We left a nominal tip instead, and she came to the table while we were sitting there, stared closely at the receipt, and marched away to show her manager. Heirloom cafe: your other servers, from what we could tell, seemed to provide good service. We also spoke a few times to who we believe might be an owner and he was great. You should re consider this server that has left an incredibly bad taste in our mouths and we will not be returning, nor recommending it."
